the pingpong balls are Polystyrene, which does not go well with solvents. I am guessing that's why the rough texture on the pingpong balls. Water-based should work on the pingpong balls. The spoons are Polypropylene, which can take much more in the sense of solvants. Love the colours! Too bad shipping is about $50 to the EU, though.

Just watched this video. What awesome paint, it looks like they All lay down really nice. It's also amazing what can be done with paint bases + top coats. Very impressed. Deep Purple, cool color but also one of my all time favorite rock bands. Good job Bob, you should be proud of your paint line up.

Deep Purple! Nice, real cool colors, Started almost 40 years ago with Aeroplanes, and sill remember the first One it was a 1/48 General Dynamics F111...after that "migrated" to racing Cars 1/20...the last one was Nigel Mansell's Lola Newman-Haas 1993 from Tamiya, well started a McLaren MP-4/8 but never finished it...I was thinking about doing it with my son but he has no interest in it😞...so it remains untoutched for the last 28/29 years...One day, one of this days! Thanks you Robert Sir for you videos, you are a living Legend!

Excuse my ignorance but what is different about the primers vs paint other than matte vs semi matte or gloss finish? Do they have harsher solvents or something to grip the plastic more?

Congrats on the new additions! They look great! Seeing that tinted yellow clear at the end makes me wonder if you'd be able to make a clear fluorescent lineup similar to what Gaia makes. I love them but they're really hard to get sometimes. Anyway, great video and best of luck, sir!

You shouldn't have a problem with a 0.3mm. But I do find myself using my 0.5mm way more than my other brushes

I wish the primers came in a bigger jar. Gaia paints and modo and e7 all have 50ml primers. Before thinning. After thinning it gives you 125ml per primer. These jars are so small it’ll only last for a model or two.

Just used some dollar store "blue sapphire" paint today and it looks great. I'm a sucker for those metallic blues. Dynamo green is a killer green and that blue carbide is nice also. Always hard for me to tell colors since I'm color blind but the blue carbide almost looks green to me.Unless I missed it in the video, none of these are clear coated correct? EDIT: You mentioned you weren't happy with some of the spoons themselves. I like the idea of the plastic sections you used as they stack and can be stored better than the spoons, IMO. How are the plastic tiles price wise compared to the spoons? Any info on where to get the material to make similar tiles? EDIT 2. Are the bottles your paints come in able to use any of the screw on siphon type lids?

These here weren't cleared. The screw on caps for the siphon feed airbrush and the plastic I use is made by Plastistruct and Evergreen Scale Models

matches? Like your balls, shows off the collor, and yes they are now made of a styrene based plastic, so laquer will melt them. Tamiya Fine surface primer should work as long as you dust on coats a little at a time.

Hey Rex, you said your line of paints can be brushed on… I’m not getting good results, the paint is to thin. Even the Brushable primer Does not go down good. You also didn’t mention the paint smell really strong!! For enamel they smelled worse than lacquers. I definitely have to use my Paint respirator when working with these paints. I do like all your videos I find them very helpful and I bought a lot of products based on your reviews keep up the good work.

Most of those colors i don't think I would use on a gundam. Some I might use on a vehicle model. Im not seeing things like the gianotes surfacer gray tones, im not seeing coppers, brass, golds, titanium, ect one would use. Im not sure any of those colors even match bandi color codes. As far as laquers, nice.

Hey Rex, I have a question for you regarding your paints. I intend to thin the enamel paints and use them for airbrushing. Can they be used over an enamel primer? I've heard this can cause issues or melt the plastic. Should I just your lacquer primer since I intend to airbrush?

These can be used over any primer. I have a primer in theis line called Brushable Primer. I also spray it and it's great.

@barbatosrex9473 I primarily build models that use ABS plastic (Flame Toys Transformers Furai Model), but everything I read says to avoid lacquer paints as it will make them brittle. Would you have any experience with that? I just picked up some of your enamels to give them a try, but would like to know if there is a way to prep an ABS model to handle lacquers, or should I just avoid the lacquer paints for these kits entirely?

Whenever you question if a paint will work or not, just prime it first. That will solve the problem. Tamiya Spray cans are lacquers and I spray them directly on my plastic kits and never had a problem

Yes, they dry really fast. 10 to 20 minutes tops

It does depend a little on your area's climate, but I usually let them dry 12 hours before doing anything else with them (like a clear coat or second layer of something else).
