This video came just in time as I have some of these on the way, so thank you for taking the time to test them all! As an aside, I can't champion for Mr. Leveling Thinner. My experiences with it have been less than stellar as I've noticed zero difference vs regular Mr. Color Thinner and only a miniscule difference against the bog standard hardware store thinner thinning both lacquers and enamels. Wonder how the Jumpwind compares...

I love that the bottles are square and are easily organized because of it. My Mr.Color and Tamiya bottles roll and shift a lot because of their shape. Drives me nuts when I try organizing them in my paint drawer. These Jumpwind paints look great too. Robotkai/Bella has been pushing a lot of good brands lately (Modo, HobbyMio, AOK, and now JW). I just wish they restocked faster. Her Robotkai warehouse (as well as her old business, Newtype) is actually just 15 minutes away from my house. So tempted to place a ridiculous impulsive mass order lol.

Rex, these are great colors, but damn, they're Lacquers. I keep hoping someone will finally break the code and produce great metallics in water based acrylics. As always, love your honest reviews. PS ... I don't build gumpla's, so if your automated picker selects me for the give-a-way, please pass and select someone else. Thanks ...
@normanbayona46362 жыл бұрын
I hear ya there. I'm honestly just gonna give lacquers a try though. Like, I kinda wanna see an Alclad chrome over a Warhammer model, maybe layer over some candies for heat oxidation. I'll probably just have to paint outside in a booth.
@somechinesedude54662 жыл бұрын
Why do you prefer acrylics? Less poisonous?
@ClarenceObert2 жыл бұрын
@@somechinesedude5466 Yes, less toxic, virtually no foul smelling fumes and completely non-flammable (as long as you use the water-based acrylics). Some companies, like Tamiya, use a solvent as their carrier instead of water. I live in northern North Dakota and in a condo where the association won't let me drill a vent hole in the sidewall so I could install a proper paint booth with vent/fan. So that means I have basically 4 months of the year I could paint in a room in the condo with the window open for ventilation. But, with acrylics, I can paint year round in my garage any time day or night without worrying about compressor noise disturbing my wife or the toxic/foul smelling fumes of the paint.
@ClarenceObert2 жыл бұрын
@@normanbayona4636 I'm with ya. I have a 1:48 B-17G I want to use Alclad on. Because of where I live, I'm relegated to using the garage as my painting area. So, I have basically 4 months of the year I could use Lacquer and have good enough venting. I'll make it work, but if a guy could have his cake AND eat it ... I would. 😀

From feedback from other people using them I heard they're not as durable, but they have so much color variety. I like the square bottles though. Would be so nice for storing
