Testing the Aputure Storm 80c with USB-C Battery Power

Testing a battery solution for the new Aputure Storm 80c.
Adding an update here, amaran sells a D-tap cable that will work with this light, it just doesn't have the locking connector: amarancreators...

in my case I used the Gentry 98w battery The important part needs a cable that can transmit more than 100w. I'm using shape's 100wdtap to c cable It works without problems.

Damn. I was going to use with the same battery. 125w is surprising with the name 80c

So I was able to make this work with my Neewer 99wh battery but I needed to use a dtap to usbc and it would only power the light at full power down to about 50-60% or so. Using my anchor usbc power bank that is rated for higher output(i forget exactly how much), it can power it at full power all the way down to 0%, the only downside is, it isn’t v-mount so the set up is not as convenient for on the go lighting situations.

80w light that pulls 125w? As far as other batteries, Anker has the Powercore 24k which outputs 100w or more (depending on which version you get, i think the new version goes up to 140w). I'm all in on making my whole kit USB-C. My camera, laptop, tablet, phone, flash, and Zhiyun LED lights already use USB-C.

What about a powerbank with PD 3.1 that can output 140w ? Or the Smallrig VB212 that is rated for 140w output through USB-C.

Easy solution for this and what I do is get a car cigarette 100 watt USB c wire it up to a dtap and then you'll be fine. Otherwise there is a company that make dtap to usb-c with 100 Watt output. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGKlZI2jhqmAa9k

Only one with usb that works to my knowledge. Got 3 fxlion 2 battery’s that dont work with the 80c
