3:51 You couldn't connect that welder to a 50 amp breaker. You would never connect a 20 amp receptacle, which the machine takes, to a 50amp breaker. You would melt the power cord of the welder. 50amp breaker would require 6ga copper which won't even fit the 20 amp receptacle :)

Small welding machines are indeed very convenient for home use, but if they are used for long-term work, are industrial welding machines better?
@jorgecallico91772 жыл бұрын
I too was a little confused about the numbers lighting up. And it probably does over read by 2X. So if it says "200"? Really means "100" amps. Or maybe a little less. Bought this machine because I'm a beginner.
@JR-zw2vb2 жыл бұрын
how's it holding?
@robertblackshear89632 жыл бұрын
Usually when the 110 models advertise 200 amps it's only 125 amps top. Even with a 30 amp 110 breaker you can only get about 140 amps at best.
@jorgecallico91772 жыл бұрын
@@JR-zw2vb I'm very happy with this welder. And as a beginner this is perfect. Waited a couple weeks before offering a review, but believe me! I'm happy. Also, my apartment probably has a 20 amps circuit and doesn't trip. Even when the machine was set at the maximum. Just to be on the safe side however, I disconnected all the other appliances and lights on the circuit.
@critbug2 жыл бұрын

@jorgecallico91772 жыл бұрын
@@robertblackshear8963 Unfortunately I only have access to a 15 amp circuit. So far it has only shut down the breaker once. And this was when the setting was at the highest setting. Something like "200" on the readout. My question is one of what is the maximum amount of welding I can do without tripping my 15 amp breaker? I'm a beginner by the way. Also, even with just my 15 amp breaker it still took the machine to be set at it's highest setting AND I had been keeping the machine on and welding for over a minute. From now on I'm going to weld for much shorter lengths of time That and set the tool a little lower than the maximum setting of 200.

30 amp not 50. The most you would need to get the most out of that welder is 30 amps running it on 110v. If it is equipped to run dual voltage 110/220 v it will not likely pull more than 30 amp. Those machines are OK to get a job done but they don't seem to last very long. I've seen some of them short out and blow smoke right out of the box. They are great for running 6013 if anything.
