@@RobRacin I think so too. I think mid 12’s with a dialed in launch, no lift shift and a decent tire. Seat time is the big one though, gotta figure out how to drive it lol thank you!

Definitely a high 12 car with good tires and some good control arms especially with that 107 mph. Then spray it into the 11s!

Full length subframe connectors, torque box reinforcements (wild rides style, as cheap as $50 for ebay knock offs, $100 Team Z) and real slicks. You'll be going at least 12.70's. Remove the front sway bar (or at least disconnect the end links) and trunk mount your battery. With good air, a prepped track, and some practice you'll be pretty deep in the 12's. 150 shot and you'll be going deep 11's. Pill it to kill it and you should scrape into the 10's. Been doing this foxbody thing since the mid 90's.

@@BrookeMoore-wh9ww I think you’re right, even with a set of slicks and some seat time I think low to mid 12’s, time will tell!

I'm going to b honest on this one here's my knowledge I got a 1987 88mm turbo stang 700 plus hp 10 psi Not just any car can do that time u did The new charger,s at the track they barely get there , here,s the thing those low 13 s is not easy to get there for people like us that we know about 1l4 mile and what it takes ur car is fast , trust me Anybody here that's not an Internet warrior know,s exactly what I'm talking about, very good video.

@@jayfkncool4258 thank you I appreciate it! Is your ‘87 still fuel injected? I have an 80mm on3 turbo I’m setting up on this car over the winter and thinking about running a blow thru set up. I know there is probably better set ups like the Holley sniper kits but curious to see if I can figure out the blow thru carbs

Car ran pretty good for being on street tires on a bare road. That car on a drag radial at a prepped track would probably run 12.50s…. Pretty solid numbers honestly. And then the T5 breaks on the 3rd pass. Lol

@@AJsSpeedShop I think you’re right, and I’m pretty happy with it. Going to be making some changes over the winter to make it run quicker too. Haha yeah the t5 is a ticking time bomb, the street tires might be what’s keeping it alive

28 is low for ever day use min 32ish. 4.xx series gears are a must for cammed up cars, allows it to make power the way its designed. Too many skip gears and wonder why its not much faster. Too low pressure esp on a st tire makes it cup and gives less contact patch. Carb/intake is what these cars needed, being in Ca its the reason I cant own OBD 1 cars anymore unless they are stock, btdt. Cool ride man. Had one identical late 80s had a stout 460/c6 100shot on it Weld wheels....hell of a sleeper nobody back then figured anything more than a 302 was in it. Rhoads lifters really tamed the lope down when the oil got warm. Pretty lumpy cold, when operating temp sounded like a teeny torque cam.
@BenekeBuiltАй бұрын
@@gordocarbo good to know about the street tire psi. And I agree a lot of people overlook gearing, just like in the off-roading community. Correct set of Gears can turn any car / truck into a whole different animal. That 460 combo had to have been a fun set up. Thank you! At some point I’ll be going with a 351w base setup, we’ll get there soon.

How do you like the SR shocks?
@BenekeBuilt2 ай бұрын
@@65msp they aren’t terrible. They are definetly a good budget way to lower a car and put it on coilovers. BUT they are limited with adjustability. The ride is stiff but they are pretty good. If someone isn’t in a rush to buy suspension and can wait and save for a better quality set up then “buy once cry once” but for someone that wants to spend a couple hundred bucks and lower a car that’s not cutting factory coils while replacing worn out stock shocks, then they are a great option

@BenekeBuilt2 ай бұрын
@ if I were you I’d just throw them in to get the car on the road and enjoy it but if you can wait, sell them and put it towards something nicer if you are super picky about how it rides
