Testing the Ineos at the powerlines, first thoughts & putting it up against Duggo's Ranger

We tested the Ineos Grenadier at the Mundaring powerlines track (not the toughest but tough enough to start us off) just east of Perth and came out of it feeling pretty good about the car... Hear all of our thoughts straight after the test right here.

Brown Davis make a 68L AUX tank for the Grenadier, getting fuel capacity up to 158L. That's more than enough for 99% of Australian travel, if needed with an extra jerry on the roof or on a swing away rear bar, which is the same as most people do with Wagons. Sounds like most of the negatives can be cancelled out with the same aftermarket gear people put on other 4WDs...

For the prices. Think about how much an axle correction is on the LC76. How much for infotainment console? Soundproofing? etc... Still cheaper than a 300, but not as many bells and whistles.

Try using the Auto function for the air conditioning. It makes a HUGE difference to ours. If anything, I find it makes it too cold.

I’ve got an old Defender. It’s rather ordinary on road. Take it off road, and it all makes sense. It loves it ! I think the Grenadier is the same ?

Been meaning to ask, with a 5 seat 4B, and you only have one passenger ever, can the weight of 3 extra average weight people be transferred to carrying more stuff or do you have to reserve that?

One think i haven't heard is that this car is NOT subject to Luxury Car Tax - unlike other cars like the Toyota LC200 LC300 series. That saves a lot of money.

I have just purchased one and one of the main reasons was the gcm I am full time on the road and the 7 tonne gcm had a lot to do with the purchase. I have a rinomax lost trak van. And the grenadier should be ideal for my requirements.

I've had my Grenadier for almost 4 months now. Everything works as designed. It's a true 4X4 with some very useful and thoughtful tech. I've deleted the rear seat and built out the back. Added some weight in the rear build out and it rides amazing on the progressive coils. The Rhino Roof rack can be a bit noisy under headwind conditions but not really a surprise. I love driving mine every time I get behind the wheel. I do think the grill could look better. It looks kinda cheap in my opinion. Hopefully someone comes up with a grill replacement and the ability to incorporate some Baja Designs DL's I've owned several Jeeps and in my opinion the Grenadier just makes me feel better about what I'm driving.
