The refrigerated centre console box is one of the greatest features. Those things get CHILLY!! And pulling out a Coke or Iced Coffee mid-drive is the shit!

Living in the states at the moment and was looking forward to the new Prado being on my list for when I head back to Aus next year but not with that line up. Its already here in the states and all trim levels get the diff lock and a new hybrid engine. Lets be honest what new four wheel drive doesnt have a locker, even the Chinese manage that.

I bought a new 150 in October last year 68k drive away GX for private use it’s no poverty pack it has carpet full electric and a shit load of driver assist features which get switched off if the 72k doesn’t include drive away costs stamp duty dealer cost etc the difference will be close to 10k hence why a huge number of people took delivery of the last of the 150s

Yep, i took delivery last August. $88k d/away for a Kakadu. Seems to be about $20k below the new price. Glad i pulled the trigger back then.

Yes no GX since like 2012 is "mine spec", my Gx has 97% of GXL gear.

Agree with you Ronny disappointing that lock diff is only on Altitude, not like before where is was standard on GXL, VX and Kakadu. Also not happy that is SDM only on Altitude. I’d love what the Altitude has except for the moon roof. Moon roofs which if your keeping the car long term is a disaster waiting to happen especially when it hasn’t been maintained. I’d wish they made moon roofs optional. I’d rather the GXL without the powered tailgate and other gimmicks and instead fitted them with SDM and diff lock. Hopefully in two years time diff lock, SDM will be made optional on the lower models. What hasn’t been said in the media is what will be the optional equipment for these models. Also hope 18” rims are available on VX as an option for off road driving. I’d also like to see a GR version in a year or so with front and rear locking diffs and front and rear SDM, because that will be a very capable off road machine. I’d say if they got a GX grade and it had the option of fitting front and rear diff locks, front and rear SDM, and came standard with tech that actually helped with off road driving, and not with gimmicks like powered tilt and reach steering and powered tailgate, that would sell like hot cakes, because this is what serious off roadsters like yourself would be looking for.

I think you’re missing the fact that it is basically a 300 with a 2.8l. It has near identical chassis, wheelbase, towing etc. Certainly not a facelift. Its possible that this will have a huge impact on the LC 300 as they will play in the same category.

I love it. Wanting an Altitude and my local Toyota has taken a deposit from me. Worries you said a 2 year wait though. They’ve told me they’ll have it Sept 1st. We paid our deposit in Feb 😅

The wait list currently is 2 years, if you ordered earlier it will probably come around September

@@BackChat No one is taking orders, all you can do is get on a pre-order list and when the car actually exists in the dealer system (August 30), they will process the pre-orders first whereby some will proceed to a sale contract as per normal car purchasing. No one will know the true demand until sales contracts exist for real. We won't know the waiting time until August 30 when Toyota release to the Australian dealers the first allocation models/colours (maybe about 5000), then we wait 3 months for the next shipment etc. Then it will solely depend on the make up of your dealers pre-order model preferences vs their allocation and colours. Pick the right model/colour and you might get it sooner than later. But until then, you and everyone else are literally making shit up.

10k price increase on gxl,no diff lock,less fuel capacity, a lot larger turning circle only dual climate control instead of tri, 18inch wheels is the smallest. Iv had 3 gxl prados and love them but i wont b buying one of these there is no value for money for me😢

Yeah, fuel range is the key for me and they've made it worse. Unless it's got the ability to easily add more, I'd be keen to look at the previous ones with a (hopefully) discount on the new ones

Thanks folks - a much more appealing look compared to the Hungarian Gift Shop front grill style of the current generation - but $100000 for a piece of metal with four wheels and some plastics - are you friggin kidding me? - my 2010 diesel Hilux only cost me $18000 and it’s all I need with only 220000km as most of my sensible financial commitments go toward property - that’s where true value for money is - but if folk are dumb enough to spend that much on a deprecating asset then that’s their choice.

@@oggyoggy1299 yes Oggy and if you hunt around you can still find them under $22k like Gumtree - the beauty of the pre 2015 models is they don’t have a DPF and mine even has ABS, steering wheel controls and electric mirrors/windows - I changed the awful Toyota stereo for a Pioneer Bluetooth one for A$210 - I liked the new Triton until I discovered it comes with the annoying stop/start ignition system introduced in post 2014 Subaru Foresters - which means I the engine turns off every time you stop - you can turn this off but it resets again when you restart the car - and don’t touch a Ford with a barge pole because they don’t last like a Toyota and the Ford dealerships will treat you like s#$t!
