Trying out the Kentok Tool LE400 pro, the machine is a 5.5-6 watt diode with a 400x400 work area. The machine is highly accurate and works well.

Nice review. One thing I have noticed with most reviews of the newer "hi power" lasers is that they all want to talk about how they cut. How fast, how, thick, how clean, etc. While these things are important, I remember when the 5 watt lasers first hit the market there were many more reviews that showed how well they "engraved". Not all jobs require cutting. I would imagine many guys getting these lasers are going to do more engraving than cutting. It would be nice to see more reviews go back to engraving. Thank you for including some engraving in your review but, personally, I would like to see more engraving and less cutting in the reviews.

This looks very much like my Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro. I had to order the adjustable Z-axis part (well worth the money) and my laser module is slightly different as it is a long focus where this looks like a short focus. One Ortur module has that magnetic shield. My Ortur 5.5W has been a great machine and my experience with the 5.5W module has been good with its capabilities for cutting and engraving. This machine looks like it’s a decent starter machine, especially for the money.

I appreciate your review. I have this laser but have never really understood its potential. Basically, I engrave leather. I'd love to cut leather but it is obvious I need to learn how to use LightBurn better to accomplish more complicated work. Thanks for "leading me to water."

I have had this machine since November and I have only used it a handful off times because I'm learning all this. I never had any issue but last night I was trying to engrave using lasergrbl and I homed it and went to frame it went from the front left corner to the back right corner and made all kinds of noise. I had to reset it like 4 times. My project was only 152 mm by 101mm so it definitely wasn't too large then when I got it frame right I had it on 100% at 800 speed and it wouldn't even mark the wood. So idk what to do. And I had it focused

Make sure you were operating on absolute coordinates and had homes the machine. Only other thing could be work area size setting. Maybe it was hand moved and you forgot to home? That has happened to me…

Painted mirrors, yes. Cutting metal, no.

Speed tests are needed, all material varies. You must focus to the material, I don’t recall the exact height. Use the focus tool

Can the burner be disconnected from the during the download? Can a USB be used for burning from file?

The machine does not have a card or usb port for removable media. The machine has to be ran using a PC connection. I run lightburn and can't speak to any other softwares.

Diode lasers do a good job on wood. This is an older video and there are lots of machines out now.

Hi! We've been trying to figure out how to get dog photos to engrave and actually look like a dog and not just dark blobs really. We're using this model and using laser grbl. Can you help enlighten us on what settings to maybe use? We've been playing around with contrast, brightness, Grayslake, speed etc. Nothing seems to help. I'm a dog groomer and wanted to laser engrave my clients pets photos onto wood cookies for Christmas. But I can't get this figured out 😢. Thanks for any help!!

No background, high contrast, flatten out to black and white in photo processing. 300 LPI and good settings for the burn.
