I should of also tested with a stock radio cord that comes with a cobra 29. The driver extreme cord is already an upgrade so just imagine with a smaller stock cord!! Hope you enjoyed!

I did the same thing on a TX star 250 with a xt-60 connector with just 10 gauge 3ft. Picked up a easy 75 pulse wats on swing over the stock wiring, made it a breeze to swap out amps on the go. Have a midnight special 500 that I'm doing the xt90 and I'll try true OFC 10 gauge but probably the 8 gauge ill wind up with. I come from the drone hobby and ill say this, on 4s 6s battery....its normal to pull over a 100 amps at full tilt and never had a xt60 melt on me, now the batteries that's another story. Warm to the tuch but never failed!

Matt just completed my 1980 Cobra29 with Amp, updated power cord, echo and tune up. The Radio performs as good as if not better than a modern tons of money Radio. All my listeners gave this radio a WOW!!!!. Incredible sound. Thank you Matt!!!!!!

Took the pc76xl, with the RFX you did for me and set it up on the bench before installing in the mobile. Stock power cord and 14.2 volts. Considerable power and voltage loss. Installed in mobile with heavy duty, 3 pinned, dual fused power cord...💥👀🥳. Good comparison. Appreciable results. 👍💪Did you ever complete, and come to any conclusion, on your experiment with the temperature controlled heating oscillator for the dreaded sideband drift? Your creative curiosity has a positive charge going straight to my aging cerebellum. 🤯😆 😑🦗

Is the XT90E-M a drop in replacement for the 3-pin or do you have to enlarge the opening and drill new holes?

I know you're in the business to make money, but you wouldn't be interested in sharing where the plug and jack came from so some of us with radios that don't need work could add that ourselves would ya? Long shot, but worth a try.. LOL.. Some of us are pretty handy with a Weller and would dive off in our own equipment to do that upgrade..

Don't mind sharing! It's a xt90 connector. You can get them from Amazon. They have sets that include the panel mount piece and the male or female end connectors for the power wires. Hope that helps.

Nice upgrade, but with those extra watts.... the receiving radio will not notice a difference
