I am finnally testing the New NGI EcoSoya Brands as they will soon be available for purchases! I am testing them with the wicks and jars that I was using prior to the EcoSoya being reformulated and hoping that I will be able to keep my same wick sizes and container when making my soy wax container candles! Now to find which of their waxes best suits my needs!
I forgot to say in the video but the fragrance load of these test candles is 8% and the re-congeal burn pool was very perfectly nice and smooth. I will post a picture in the community tab.
I buy my votive molds and wick centering tools from www.canwax.com

Thanks for a great video Ariane. When I was making candles in my retail shop I used GW464 for my jars and Soy Pillar Blend from Ecosoya for my tealights, melts, votives and pillar. Only GW464 is still available at my supplier but they don't stock Pillar blend anymore and soy melts is were I want to go. So thanks again for testing. When those waxes are in stock I will do some testings myself. For my votives I used CD10 wick and for my tealights I used CD3 and they worked perfectly for all fragrances.

The wife and I did test pours last night with the 210. We used mason jars and the glass adhesion was bad in my opinion but that could be my fault due to the location of my pour table so ill be changing that. We tried using our normal color ratio on 1 lbs of wax and it had absolutely no effect on the color so we will have to bump it up. We are currently going to test burn a helix wick and HTP wick hoping for good results on either... We did two scents Vanilla Frosting and Lavender and the Vanilla is awesome while the Lavender is a lame duck. Tops were smooth with no bubbles. Going to let them cure for another 2 days before we test burn.. It sucks we ran out of wax and had to switch right before the holiday season!
@camronclandening6
@camronclandening6 7 жыл бұрын
Update on my wicks! The HTP wick was undersized and did not reach the sides of my 3 inch container like it normally does, the Helix wick was over sized and created a lot of carbon and had a mushroom tip. Needless to say I ordered a larger HTP wick to try and a few LX wicks to compare.

Thank you for the video! I bought all three of the waxes but was disappointed upon opening the bags. The overwhelming smell of vinegar was so strong. I made 8 oz tumbler containers using the manufacturer and candle science recommended LX wicks, waited 48 hours before trimming and lighting. There is no cold throw and the hot throw is barely noticeable. I want to add that I also purchased the GW444 and GW464 wax and used Candle Sciences recommended ECO wicks and had awesome results. I used the same fragrance oil for all of the candles. It's disappointing and a waste knowing I paid $5 more for each EcoSoya waxes.

I'm dying to get my hands on these waxes! I've been checking suppliers websites religiously since May because the original timeframe given for restock was "late spring/early summer" 🙄 . I tried a couple of other brands in the meantime and nothing worked near as well for me, always mottled on top or separating from the container no matter what temperature I poured at. EcoSoya was super easy to use and consistenly gave great results, so I'm glad to see that still appears to be the case. Thanks for the testing video!

The 230 i use for melts but it will not release from the mold. Have to put them in the freezer for 20 minutes until they release. Never had this problem with the pillar blend. Also need to pour 10 degrees celcius lower than the old pillar blend or it overflows all over the mold.

All waxes do this depending on temperature of the room etc. even the most high end candles from the biggest brand names. It retracts away from the glass and retracts back again. There are days where this will happen and then a few hours later, it’s gone again. There’s literally no way of stopping this. If you don’t want it to show, just keep away from clear containers

Hi Ariane, I was wondering the reason behind making a regular non scented candle and then adding it to the container with scent? Is there a reason behind doing so? I have never seen or done this myself but I was wondering if this is another method for pillars as well... As far as essential oils, what do you use and what is the quantity? Last question, what are your thoughts on the new EcoSoy Pillar voitive blend that just came out (that one is another one a part from the ones you are showing)? Thanks you so much for your videos! I will be looking through all of them and I have to say that you have a great setup! I hope to have a great setup like yours one day!:)

@@ohreally404 After looking at her other videos, She has one that explains this. She puts a votive into the container as this helps to eliminate air pockets... So that the candles burns more evenly. My question was, could this help pillars? And if anyone had success with essential oils? I have been trying to create a new line but I find that the candle ends up smelling werid after 4-5 hours of burning and the scent is gone.

Brian Hebert hi I went back to my nature c-3 wax. The fact is ecosoya does work but not for immediate use it does have to sit a good while for a cold scent throw which is needed when selling candles. I’ve had several conversations with ngi the makers and it almost seems as if everyone else is the problem and not the wax but in the same breath they advise that they are still troubleshooting. Sighs I’m sticking with my c-3 wax. I still have some 210 and 220 I mix a little to make massage oils but that’s it.

And it is really true. :) Will you please tell the votive candle in the center has the same wax as general candle only without fragrance and colour, am I right in understanding? And what is going on with the smell of essential oils in the candle? As my test are going on now, the smell becomes very low after 5-6 hours (I make in 100 ml container) and then it changes, becoming not a pleasant to my mind. What is your practice with essential oils in big candle? Do they really smell after 5-6 hours? And what is going on with the aroma through 15-20 hour period? Will be much appriciate for your answer. )

Hi Ariane! Thank you for this video. I have purchased the Q210 in hopes that I could successfully create a solid pillar candle and as of now, it cured well and all but each candle I burned created tunneling and won't burn straight across. Ive tried different wicks so im wondering if its the wax? Do you have any advice on how to prevent candle tunneling?

Zamarys Baez I don’t believe the Q210 is for pillar but more for container candles. The Q230 I believe is designed for pillars

Hi Ariane! I love your video but was wondering if the scents pulled through well during testing? I would LOVE to try the waxes but unsure if the scents will pull through... (thanks in advance if read 😄)

I have read a lot of reviews that say that the wax smells like vinegar, and overpowers any scent they put in it. Has anyone else had this problem?

happines12 maybe in a futur video! But basically, I mix soy wax with shea & mango butters, light the candle and when enough wax is melted, you blow it off and use the melted wax to massage 😊

could you be more specific on how the cold throw and hot throw were. you didnt mention anythinig like that in the video. Did eco soya have to view the review first and give you permission to upload what they thought should be put online? Just looking for honesty. Too many bad reviews for you to have such a positive review.

I see that you have a lot of wet spots on your candles. Do you sell them that way? I try to explain to my customers that this is natural for Soy wax, but they don't like it esthetically.

Ariane Arsenault I thought I saw them on the sides. That's the major problem I have with my candles. Do you heat your jars before pouring? Thank you for answering my question. You can see them at 12:05

what wicks did you find to be successful with Q210? I, along with many other fellow testers, have noticed lot of wickings issues. Start out ok, and then fizzle out or get a clump where the wick enters the wax and flame gets super wide. Most wicks started ok but not so much luck after burning about half way down (regardless of size for the most part). So, was just curious on your wicking results? I liked eco with CB advanced, but its been terrible with this. Wicks dont want to curl in this wax Ive noticed as well. Thanks
