Testing the NOLIMITZ V2 MAST

This is from a recent session testing the NoLImitz V2 mast when I first got it. Riding it with the lift 90HA and was powered up this session in the beachbreak.
The V2 mast is stiffer than the V1 and a new thinner profile which make it much faster and more efficient than than the V1.

Hey mate, I saw the results of some testing NoLimitz have done to compare stiffness of the V2 to other masts. Unfortunately Axis HM and Army performance werent part of the test, but it did include F-one carbon, axis aluminium, Lift X2, unifoil Katana, project cedrus V1 and a few others. The NL V2 was stiffer than all except the axis 19mm. I know the axis marketing says the HM mast is a multiple times stiffer than the 19mm alu mast, so by that logic its fair to assume the axis HM is probably stiffer than the NL V2, and I cant comment on the army performance. At my weight Im not going to notice the difference in stiffness in these masts. The big advantage that the NL has over the Axis and Army masts is the weight. The NL is almost 1kg lighter than the armstrong (which i believe is lighter than the Axis HM). I believe the profile is much more efficient than the axis HM too (unsure about the armstrong performance mast). I believe the NL also cost less than both the army and axis masts at full RRP.

awesome video, have you ever tried the stringy or foil parts adapters? if so, was there a loss in performance?

thanks mate, appreciate the feedback! no i have never really used any of the adapters, and I haver always had the lift NoLimitz mast which isnt a very good fit to other brands (takuma is best). I have been thinking about a stringy fuse for armstrong or one of the lift to axis fuses too. I think the main thing to watch for is that the adapter is a hydrodynamic shape but also strong and then you're good to go.

Great .... Good outdoor activity I wondering, how if you meet shark ? Have evet met shark when foiling on the ocean? Because, so many surfers sometimes meet shark. And in my opinion, foiling is more safe for people, bacause not attracting the shark to get close to foiler. Am I right, or thats just my opinion.

haha its a great question and I have encountered many sharks foiling which are 1-2m long and only one that was 3-4m. Then 1-2m sharks always swim off very fast when they see you and might come back for a second look but then leave you alone. I feel like the foil gives some protection from being attacked from beneath, but have also heard the foil vibrations can attract sharks.

@@camjrdn6318 omg...then foiling on the ocean is also dangerous.... Better foiling on the lake or big wide pond. Anyway....in such a developing country, like indonesia, foiling or wind surfing is still expensive activity. So, for me, seeing wind surf and foiling in Yutube is such an impressive things I wanna do...means it is my dream to go to ocean and have fun with surfing, though I can swim well. I just do swimming around my place that a little bit far from the beach. All right...have a nice time with outdoor activity friend.. Stay healthy yaaa...👍👍

Lakes and wide ponds are great for dock start foiling which is really fun Thats aweme mate, stoked you enjoy the videos, if you want to foil then being a strong swimming is a must and riding the foil is something you will be able to build up to

Have you tried mid aspect wings for towing?

I havent ridden a mid aspect wing at all in almost 2 years. I think the new mid aspect (SK8, Army MA, etc) look sweet and would definatley carve and surf better than a HA, but I go towing about once a year and they dont really work for what I am doing 99% of the time

@@camjrdn6318 ok so ma is better for towing, but youre mostly proneing and pumping back out? I thought u could chip in at wategos and then just go all the way down the bay, then walk back?

yeah so MA is gonna be better for turns and worse for pumping. Usually at wategos i like to pump around a bit to make the most of the laps. You cant always get a good wave off the takeoff and if its not a bomb then you have to ride through the surfers which is discouraged, so I like the utility of the HA wings to pump out to the bombs that would be too big to takeoff on usually @@apricotscrub

@@camjrdn6318 that makes sense altho i feel like ma can still be decent at pumping, just depends on if U need to pump a little or a football field worth like in your videos. So.. for ha wings that can surf, is lift the only option? I think uni progression is also ha, and so is signature missile and others. What ha wings have you tried? I'm on axis and feeling like the lift ha are way better than the arts based on how many ppl use lift. But isn't the lift wings a bit old compared to the new ones ?

yep those are all good points, MA can still pump decent to link waves. For what I am interested in i want to be able to pump long distances to big waves and then go very fast. For HA wings I have owned the armstrong 1125 and 725 as a daily wing. Its faster than lift but less user friendly (stall speed). I have a Ono Foil M800 which is also decent (great for the price). I have demo'd a uni progression 170 and that felt decent. I think you cant go wrong with lift, cabrinha or uni for HA wings that can still turn andf are user friendly. Signature probably ok too, but I never like the look of the 'nose' on those wings. I have never tried Axis ART, but i would persist with that if you have one while looking for something else just to dial in the HA wing riding and I think theyre probably decent and have seen people ripping on them. Regarding the age of the 120HA I trip out on that all the time that it is over 2 years old and still one of if not the best all round wings. The 90HA is an improvement on the 120 and is an awesome piece of gear that can pump and rip solid waves @@apricotscrub
