Love these pellet reviews, hopefully you will have done one for every pellet eventually. Saw a guy pushing deformed pellets through a pellet sizer the other day, not only did it repair damaged skirts but he recons it also improved accuracy

I'm getting through the majority of different pellets slowly mate. It's great fun trying them out for sure.. Re the sizers yes some barrels will perform marginally better with a sized pellet, but the most important thing is that the best barrel in the world won't shoot inconsistently manufactured pellets 😉

I had a tin. Flashing was attrocious washed and cleaned a few but after 45 yards forget it. I wouldnt use them because of the flashing maybe ending up in the barrel if you miss any during washing.

Could you review the Norma 8.4 gr with an FAC gun sometime? RWS is good in my Beeman 18.4 fpe break barrel to 45 yards. I need good pellets for pest control, no contests. The Norma are doing well so far at 17 yards with Ruger Explorer, for small pests. Will test the Beeman and update later. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the info. Norma look just like 8.3 gr Superdomes but without the pleated skirt. My gun loves RWS also.

@@tillysgunstocks Thank you sir, no rush. My target - field needs bush wacked, so will test Norma GTFT 8.4 when possible. 17 yard test is not useful information for my Beeman, it shoots 0.3" groups at 33 yards, 1,000 fps, Superdomes. Same hole at 17 yards so you get my drift 😄 Good videos thanks much! (Beeman 10616 break barrel, $129 USD, go figure).

Bought a tin myself last year and they don't come close to JSB and AA at 50 meters from several rifles. As you've seen, the head sizes are quite inconsistent. They look really nice and shiny and I think the alloy is harder than usual so they shouldn't deform so much if you need to carry them about. Still, I'll stay with JSB.

That’s really interesting, I would like to know the twist rates of the two barrels? I wonder if the first barrel has a faster twist rate and the pellets are not deviating due to gyroscopic forces.

I used to shoot HN FTT's then switched to JSB Heavies 10.34gr because the grouping was more consistent through my S510. But when I bought my FX Impact both FTT's and JSB's grouped awful. I eventually tried QYS Streamlined 9.56gr on a recommendation and they group pretty much on top of each other at my 30 yard zero. Just goes to show how much variation there can be between brands and barrels. Thank you for videos very informative.

More excellent testing. Of course after weighing there is washing, sizing and also possibly lubricating and after all that, you want to be certain that you are buying from the same batch. Who knew that accuracy cost so much? Oh yeah, all FT / HFT and BR shooters.

It's mental eh mate. Thing with these is I haven't yet worked out how to buy them in batches/dies yet. So it'll always be a lottery. I will come back to these when I get my new fancy ft rig, and give them a gauging and thorough sorting. Then xti barrels are mega 😆 wonder if that'll run these nicely..

Good testing, unfortunately rws since they changed thier pellets I have found them to be absolutely awful in a range of rifles and barrels in sub 12 and these Norma look like more of the same. Have you tried the olympia 7.87 grains, for less than a tenner a tin and amazing results. Much better than rws that fall out of barrels due to poor sizing.

Really interesting. These came highly recommended on another channel for an S510, which is the gun I use. The increased weight from the JSB Exact 8.44 I am currently caught my attention for making those 45yd head shots more reliable. You review sealed it and I will stick with JSB; and avoid the horrible afternoon you referred to. Thanks.

I still can't get over missing that flashing on the skirt,despite weighing and inspecting them.. Not all barrels like them but the h&n baracuda ft are very consistent they really need no prep or sorting unless you want to be a world champ at br. Does the tin have any information regarding head size? JSB tins can be chosen from a head size ranging from 4.49 to 4.53 according to stocks I've looked through. The experience you've had with some pellets being tight and some being loose might be because Norma have more than one die running and a tray underneath catching more than one head size, and no sorting. This is far from ideal and not something I would want to buy.
@tillysgunstocks
@tillysgunstocks 2 жыл бұрын
Hi john, no info regarding head size,other than the top the tin saying 4.5mm. There is what appears to be a batch code on the underside,but I've yet to see anyone selling these by batch code,like the jsb, AA etc. I might email them and ask if it is a batch code.would be good to know..

I have often thought about the precision of metering the regulator does and less about the weight of ammo per round difference. It would be hard to tell what a regulator puts out shot to shot other than everything being exactly the same all around with the ammo. Size, weight, diameter, and softness round to round being the same would help get an idea what the regulator is doing but not in exact psi per shot. + or minus a few pounds may make the difference more so than weight in my mind. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated please.

I,m disappointed that Norma put it's name on these pellets. I use Norma for my .22lr, .222 rem, and 308 win. and it is great ammo with very good precision and superb controlled deformation for the hunting ammo.
