Testing the off-road range of the S2 Del Mar

Before I can embark in bigger adventures, I need to see what LiveWire's newest model can do off the beaten trail. The S2 Del Mar is quite the capable machine, despite being marketed as a 'city' bike. Featuring with a higher ride height, bigger tires, and lighter frame than the LiveWire One - the S2 Del mar is poised to be a better stock option for those that want to 'see what's down that gravel road' in the LiveWire line up. Time to see what kind of range I should expect.

Great Video Ben, thanks for that sharing. I am really thinking of getting an S2 after its test. The only thing that makes me hesitate is the lack of top case rack availability for now as I would use it everyday and need storage capacity. Otherwise I might go for a preowned Zero SRF(to stay in same budget) that has a tank trunk.

Thanks! LiveWire has some options coming, should be in a few months. However the bike is quite easy to come up with custom solutions that are not expensive

What a beautiful route, with "interesting" roads. Great videography really showed off both the Del Mar and the route. Glad you were not forced to go back the way you came. I think I was holding my breath for a while. The Del Mar looks like such a fun bike to ride, nimble and powerful. It is very tempting to get one to complement my Zero DSR.

Great little adventure!. The S2 Del Mar seems so quiet. Is it because the helmet mic is not picking up the surroundings, or is it just much quieter than the LW1?

It’s much quieter. Direct drive motor vs the 90 degree bevel gear on the ELW.

Waaahhh that was such a beautiful area! So you have a 19" rear, too? It seems crazy that there wouldn't be some kind of dual sport / touring tire that would work for it. Any other rims that would fit? I know you're already thinking of customizing that thing haha.

Yeah tires are a challenge at the moment. I can get away on width, but the choices are less than a handful. Haven't looked at rims yet, still trying to see what the bike can do vs what I want to do

it's just the carrying case that comes with the Lectron EVSE. I use some straps from green Chile adventure gear. greenchileadv.com/collections/straps/products/gcag-mondo-ul-kit
