To all those whining about what my altitude looks like: 1) Fisheye lens 2) all these were above 2000 ft 3) don’t tell me where my limits should be based on your own. I know what I’m doing. I’m more acquainted with collapses than most.

Good stuff! Always interesting to see what the wings will do at load. Would love to see more of these tests with other ppg wings if you can ever do them.

Finally found a video where someone throws this wing around. I feel good about my Roadster 3 now :) With a full tank I'm going slightly over the weight range (around 125kg). What do you think, are collapses a lot more dynamic when flying at the upper end of the weight range? It's my first wing and just starting out so I'm curious about what more experienced pilots think of it.
@glydrfreak3 жыл бұрын
Good question. The collapse recovery gets a bit more violent or snappier with heavier load just because of the higher airspeed. Even at your loading, collapse recovery will be just fine while trimmed slow. While trimmed faster it might take you by surprise a little bit as it turns you and dives you towards the ground like it did to me, but it still worked out just fine 🤘🏻

As a guy who's thinking about going to paramotor training soon, it's great to see videos like this while deciding which wing to buy after I have the experience. Aren't you scared doing this? I recently did 8 skydives and I was still shitting my pants during freefall lol. Is there any other great wings to consider after I finish?

This is definitely no intent to show that the roadster is a bad wing. Just showing that it behaves as it should with the certification it has, which is an EN-B. EN-A certified wings will be the most mellow. EN-B gains a little bit of maneuverability, speed, flare authority, and efficiency. The roadster is a fantastic wing following training. I might suggest the spyder (same wing as roadster but lightweight) because the lightweight fabric makes launching a heck of a lot easier. I’ve been in the sport long enough to know how different certifications of gliders behave when they collapse, so this wasn’t super scary. I knew what to expect and I knew the safe nature of the EN-B characteristics would take care of me. I certainly don’t suggest people collapse their wing this without knowing exactly what is going on. Hope that helps answer your questions! 👊🏻

@@glydrfreak thanks man, i really value passive safety as it gives me confidence in the wing and lets me enjoy the views in my exploration and small cross country flights. Really apreciate your video so we can see how it behaves and not just in the EN certification sheet.

I think it’s best practice to make your very first flights on an EN-A class wing. many people purchase this wing as soon as they finish training.
