Yes, so many places in the Lakes where you cannot get a phone signal and I saw the benefit of these when out with a large group, when the leader at the front had one of these and his wife who was walking with a couple way at the back also had one too. @@AlanMETALMAN i could almost justify it as a bit of essential kit like my garmin gpx. Its not until you need it you need it. Its quite situational but it could be that situation that saves you. You have illustrated some great uses for it. We’ve had separations to whiteouts, injuries and getting lost in our time together so in each of those this kit would have been ideal! 👍

Hi , Alan. Absolutely well- tested review on Walkie-talkies. I think K7S may have done the same product or similar one. We have one con found. When we charge the walkie talkies, the charger will not display whether the walkie talkies are charged up or not. Other than that, we are happy with the product and we have on the shoulder whenever we kayak. You nailed it!!! Thank you so much . Apologies for my belated comment, we lost power and the internet serves for 2 weekends in row due to the strange high winds weather.

I have seen you use them on your kayaks before and these are the same regarding charging, unsure when they are fully charged. Oh how fun to have some walkie-talkies on your hike💜 I always carry for walkie-talkies, actually I think two people to one each so that leaves me with two My friend got three of them for $100 and they are nowhere near as good as the four that I bought for 40 bucks at Walmart, but I like yours being green you can find them a little easier and the quality seems pretty good

Hey Alan, great review and looks a good bit of kit and certainly you can see it would be really useful in certains situations such as the examples you gave. Ideal if you are there as a family and split up to do different walking routes in that forest. If the weather claggs in and you may get seperated. I think they would give you peace of mind safety wise. Funnily enough we were walking in the lakes last weekend and stopped in the Badger Inn in Rydal and a woman came in panicking because she had got seperated from her friend, her phone was dead, these would of been ideal for her, bear in mind the weather was warm and clear so just shows you. Good honest review mate, I like your integrity with these reviews and the fact you say no to products you don't truly rate. Thanks Alan, take care

Been passed that Badger Inn numerous times bet never called in, must do it one day. I used to walk with a group and they had these due to the patches phone signal. The leader always had one and the person at the back had one too, so when the grouped stretched out everyone was always in contact and must be honest, I was really impressed with them. They look decent to be honest. Would be useful like you say, I remember when we hit bad weather up a fell and couldn't see a thing, path turned very poor, so I went to check it out, and my wife panicked so they would have been useful for sure, will have a look at cost, distance of signal and battery life. Hi Alan and an interesting review of the two way radio. Having used radios like this before with my school groups they certainly have some value in outdoor situations. I’m impressed by the water proofing and rugged looking build. However, what impressed me most was Mrs METALMAN’s radio etiquette. She spoke clearly and precisely always sating: receiving and over on each transmission. You however didn’t! 🤣 One final point Alan, it would have been nice to know the price of these walkie-talkies 😡 Great review and a beautiful woodland setting. Cheers Mike 👍

They run at £62 and we had them all afternoon and the battery was still more than half charged, which I thought was good. Hi Alan, been trying to watch this since last night !. They look really good and would definitely be handy on a mountain with no phone signal. I'm like Mrs M, I don't like being separated from Alf when out in the middle of nowhere with no phone signal and when she was up the road you could hear her so clearly. So I'm guessing you always can get a signal / be able to talk on them ? They look compact and quite light which is ideal and would be great for kayaking/ canoeing.
