Thanks for the update. 😊 The new grid appears to be exactly what you need to get you thru these long winter months. 💡 I recently priced insulation sheets at Home Depot and my jaw almost dropped to the floor. 😲 Seasons greetings from Central CT. 🎄

Very nice start. always nice seeing people go solar. My solar has been low since it keeps being cloudy in west Michigan. I am gonna get a Missouri wind turbine. 48v with a max of 1500 watts. That will cover me during the cloudy days and I do get great wind at 48' up. I should receive around 800 watts per hour. Hopefully 16kw a day. Then I can go off grid with electric.

A lot better than I'm doing right now. It's 2pm and I'm pulling 11w on my 200w panel, and it's the sunniest it's been here in Portland, OR in a while. In the summer I easily pull ten times that.

I like the digital info app, but to be honest I might prefer a readout - indicator on the controller.

As you work things out so thoroughly have you predicted how long it will be before these solar panels pay themselves off? Really enjoying the channel still and would like to wish both you and Moriah a very Happy Christmas from myself and Amanda x

An interesting question Chris. We have not really calculated it because in our minds they are already paid for. When we got a quote to bring power in from the road it would have been 10k US dollar. We are under that for this setup so either way, to have electricity that money would be spent. Say we were on the grid and switched to this I would estimate 10 years of solar gain before paying them off

And, of course, Merry Christmas to you as well. Thanks for sticking around!

Thanks for sharing the info on your solar system. I have two electric cars and solar at the house is coming in the next couple of years. I would have done it earlier but I also have tree problems shading my roof so I need to figure out where to put the panels.

Build a nice big solar ground mount! Maintenance on the panels is much easier on the ground. I am always shocked when I give them a clean (every month or so ) the amount of dirt that comes off of them. I originally wanted them on the roof but I don’t think I would now knowing how much they can be limited by debris like dirt and dust that builds up
