The upper guard just makes it impossible to see what the tool is doing. Also it needs some sort of guage wheel to keep from scalping. If you burn the grass off, the weeds take over. Would like to see the paddle wheel broom attachment

The upper guard helps keep objects from flying at you. If you put a gauge wheel on it you will never be able to trim close enough. I do not have the paddle wheel to try yet maybe in the future.. Thanks for the comment
