Testing the Temp Perm Method without Body (and other dupe talk) - Diablo 2 Live Stream

I use to do a dupe method in 1.11 where you would have a max fcr bone necro and a max fcr meteor sorc. You would have both characters go out to cold planes act 1 and find an area of the map with no trees/rocks. Then you would have the necro start casting bone wall until the entire screen was covered with bonewall. Then the meteor sorc would start casting meteor on top the bone walls. This would cause so much server lag that your screen would desync and everything would disappear (characters and skill animations). You could then log onto those same characters (on another computer) in the desync lagged out game (into another game) and drop all gear off to a mule. You could do this rinse and repeat as long as the characters stay in that lagged out desync game.

Yeah! That's the server desync method we were talkin' about. It was also possible to "desync" from the server in other ways, but that was the main "engine" that allowed duping during that time. They patched that one quick!

Hey Coooley, loving all the vids on Dupes and perming its really taking me back to when i used to play! you should do a video on clash testing dupes I'm sure a lot of people would love to know more about unique ID's on some of the old legit dupes :)

This happen to me the other day my game crashed after I Identified a small charm and when I reloaded the charm was unidentified! It rolled the same stats though.

I remember identifying a fathom on bnet on this current patch and my computer died. I was kinda disappointed because it was a low roll and when I came back it was unidentifed. Dont remember if I kept it or not. Didnt care to test it again.

@@zzzlucid_dreams7560 if it rolled 28/30% cold damage I'd say its worth more Identified regardless of resistance rolls. Usually items that vary a lot in rolls with high risk are hard to sell unid. Like eschutas, CoA, Night wings... Ect. But yea if it rolled bad and server rolled back I'd sell unid for sure. Lol

What about buggy stuff like STR bugging items, I know this causes funny interactions with the server. Especially with your body on the floor. Especially with the tune words being created while the base is equipped. What about how items work with the vendors and buying/selling it, possibly having another player buy the item What about using the town PK guided arrow glitch to kill someone currently in a trade window...how does this interaction play out with the way the game is duplicating your items for trading on top of the way the game sorta duplicates your items onto your corpse and then deleted them off yourself ... What if you have an occy on, and you are in a trade window In town... and then you get hit by the guided arrow glitch and then the occy Auto teleports you outside of the town where trading is no longer possible. What happens if you are wearing delerium in the trade menu and you get guided arrow in town and it forces you into bone fetish while in the trade window. What about item perming on mercs? Dead mercs? Mercs that are either dead or alive on players who have/don’t have their body on the floor. Have you ever messed around with multiple horadric cubes in the same way you were talking about holding multiple torches with one of them on your dead body. If cube 1 is filled with items but is stuck on the mouse pointer of the dead body. And then the naked character then picks up another cube and populate it with new items and then throw it in the stash. What happens when you pick up the corpse with cube 1 in a new game while you already got a cube in your inventory with different items... what if you then throw cube 1 into the ground which will auto populate your inventory from its contents... what if the items it was populating your inventory with from dropping cube 1 were things that you can only have 1 of in your inventory, like torches for example........... Lots of various quest items and quests can start to get goofy when you are hiding quest items on the mouse pointer of a corpse and then like disband from a party that then they complete the quest, giving you the “cannot complete quest in this game” prompt which will reset your flags for that quest. So when you start a new game you can proceed through the quest and then collect your corpse with the quest item on it ... what happens when there are 8 players in a game who all now have active golden birds of kueleh hidden in their corpse... then proceeded with the quest as normal... but they all got their own birds and then you cause a lot of server lag,.. and then you all pop the quest at the same time... and you end up with 5-8 +20life potions in your inventory I had two very notable experiences in the weeks where the game transitioned from 1.09 to 1.10 and rust storm happened. A week or two before rust storm hit... I met a player who claimed to be an ex blizzard employ. He had told me that a huge update was coming and then proceeded to show me an “employees only” secret because it was going to be patched out anyways because they would be changing how the quest worked in the new patch... He then proceeded to show me how to force the ancients at the arreat summit to drop items upon successfully killing them, rather than awarding you quest completion. Interestingly the area level of the arreats summit is the highest of ANY area in the game... and you may have wondered why that place even has an area level if items never drop there... From what I recall each of the ancients would drop like 3-6 items each. Lots of yellow items... it felt kinda like 3x super pindles each. They didn’t drop gold, potions, scrolls etc... essentially I think we were forcing quest drops out of them.... I recall that we found some very interesting rares from them... that collections of mods that we weren’t exactly accustomed to seeing together... I also vaguely recall that me and my friend who were farming them had found charms that had suffixes and affixes that’s normally weren’t able to be found together... ... and I very very very much remember my friend picking up a unique ring and freaking out... it was a fucking construction ring... I still to this day don’t know if he was fucking with me (there were hacked and duped c rings on the servers at that time) I do remember his C ring survived rust storm because he used to taunt me with it all the time in the trade windows. Upon learning more about the game and how area level, item level, and quality level works, it makes sense to me that it would be possible for them to actually drop that damn ring. Oh yea and I think we were finding items with automods that we didn’t normally see together on items... I remember getting a 3 socket caddy with really gg automods that didn’t really spawn together often... I think it fanat, zeal, holy shield.:.? I think I made it into a fury. The thing is, I am almost positive it is only possible to get them to drop items in multiplayer. I would absolutely love it if anyone could help me understand how to successfully install 1.07/08/09 and then potentially play with someone over open battle net/ private server on one of those old patches so I could make a video how they could drop items. When 1.10 rolled around I had a few different items survive rust storm. I had some of those bugged/OP jewels they would put in ITH items... they somehow survived while in the cube of a character with a corpse on the floor from dueling. That same character had a bunch of stuff on them that rust storm should’ve wiped... I think all those items poofed the next time I entered a game... except for the bugged duped jewels that were in the cube... those jewels stuck around forever and we tried everything to get them to poof but they just wouldn’t. Ive got some really gnarly Rollback crashing/desyncs to work in 1.14. The first involves Frostwind/Flamebellow + swapcasting a variety of dirty skills, I’m not really sure why it would work when it did... it seemed like hitting enemies under this condition helped... possinly hitting other players with this mess could cause weirdness The second 1.14 viable rollback crash I know also involves a merc and a funny runeword. This method could be very useful if a proper setup was found for it. Unfortunately I’ve only ever had this crash happen by accident, and I’m not entirely sure what causes it... but I have a big hunch it works like this... 1.Put the delirium runeword helm on a merc. 2.Cast battle orders on the merc. 3.While battle orders is up, hope the merc procs the bone fetish ability and turns into the killer doll. 4. While still in killer doll form, if the merc has low enough health at the time of battle orders timer running out, the game will attempt to repopulate the mercs health... 5.As it attempts to repopulate the stats for the merc it crashes because there isn’t a merc to reset the stats on... it’s a killer doll now so the game freaks shit and blows up. *a few side notes on this one. I.delerium procs confusion as well, which puts the enemies in a state where they don’t really know who’s an enemy anymore or not and this may play a roll II. Auras and debuffs from champion packs may play a roll in this, as it seems like when I get this happening to me it’s generally when I’m fighting one of them III. I commonly also cast enchant on my merc IV. I have often wondered what other buggy possibilities a merc that has turned into a doll can get away with... for example it may be that the Valkyrie bug that was mentioned earlier may have been fixed by the developers for all the mercs themselves... but maybe not a merc that is in doll form V. I never did much testing with it, but it may be possible to force game crashes by adjusting a mercs equipment while it’s In doll form... I think technically the game treats this “morph” ability similar to the druid wereforms. VI. On these mercs that caused the roll back I was generally using A2 might merc with insight, delerium, and COH. It’s very possibly that the 20 str on the COH was necessary to equip the insight CV which could’ve been causing issues With the game repopulating the mercs gear and it switching stuff around so that the bone fetish uses the headbutt attack skill, instead of the ones associated with the mercs pole arm. Welp that’s all I got for right now. I know so many more bugs and tricks that I’ve never ever heard anyone else ever talk about...

Upping, socketing, or naming an item will not perm it. Nor will replacing the jewel. You might be on to something with town pk though. Last I knew, this was not still possible, but if someone finds a way.... Man that could be the trick to a new dupe method. Lot to unpack here, but some of these are legitimate ideas!!!

I don't think anyone knows how it's done today, and if they do, they'd likely keep it a secret lol. And No, to your question. It's just on your "dead" body, so if you try to pick it up, your person will say, "I can't". You'll have to drop the second torch in order to reacquire for first bod.

I don't know how to dupe or anything but perming in the trade window doesn't actually work. It didn't disappear because of having no body. You already made videos even showing how each item has a unique ID if two players have the same ID the server will delete one. The trade window thing is just a rumor people started long ago. You would want to use little packets as possible so Blizzard can't detect you cheating. Love your videos.

I don’t know what a perm out is. A has a duped amulet worn. B joins with the duped amulet. B drops the duped amulet. C joins the game. Then you lost me. Did A initiate a trade with B? Or C? And then, one of the players left. Which one? A, B or C? Was B supposed to crash? Or lose an item?

Trading and idolizing duped godly gear doesn't mean you are okay with duping. Duping has always involved secrecy and been unavailable even to top players. Essentially it just makes it somewhat more possible to get the best gear, which is kind of a good thing

there was 3rd party software called d2hacket that had lots of fun modules to play with including a packet sniffer and you could use it to execute and push code on the servers via packets and eventually led into ways of duping and fusing items.

@@cornpop8111 what do you mean. If there is repeat rollback many times in a week, you can lose a boatload of xp and loot over time. It happens to people almost every ladder. Maybe I'm using the wrong term, but servers go down, and when they are back up, it's as if the last few minutes- hour never happened.
