Always great stuff from you Brian! We love seeing people pushing the limits of what the bike can do proving its more than capable of a lil off road. Thanks for your time and effort we appreciate you. Zizzo Bikes- B.G

Nice off-road trip vid! U give me confidence in using folding bikes for more than just paved roads. I ordered a Zizzo Campo on Amazon but they ran out of stock.(bummer!) Still searching for my first adventure “gravel” folder. I have a folding push-scoot for now, but a recent incident has delayed my city touring for now until I heal. 🙄- Subbed!

Hi Brian. New subscriber here after watching a few of your folding bike reviews. All are well done & informative. I've owned a couple of Bike Fridays, the NWT & Pocket llama. I toured the Oregon coast, up to Crater Lake & over Mt. Hood on the llama. I happily replaced my Surly LHT w. it. Such a solid, capable and even fast touring rig. Sadly both were stolen. Anyway, am I to understand that one could bike from downtown Denver to the mountains? The bike route in this video is just amazing! I think I'm gonna have to plan a trip to the Denver! Cheers!

Enjoyed this Brian, will be interesting to see how things go with camping gear on off road trails. My cheap folder with Bmx type tyres does pretty well on gravel trails. Took it on holiday recently as I was staying in a seaside town and didn't want a bike and rack on the back of my van. Did the most miles since I had the chain ring changed from a 48 to a 34 to lower the gears for hills. Surprised how well it did although there was no fast riding. Been looking at changing the rear gears for a nexus 8 hub, went into a bike shop to discuss it but most bike mechanics not keen on the idea. Happy with the bike apart from that, folds smaller than Terns or a Birdy and 20 inch wheels.

Really liked the video, Brian. You obviously did some serious editing this time around. I really liked those panniers on the Forte. What brand are they? Could they be used on a Brompton with a rear rack? Have fun, stay safe.

Quick question for you about your Zizzo bikes. After watching your videos and researching the bikes on the website, it looks like the forte has the same hubs and other components as the lower end bikes (like the Campo). I understand that it is a heavier duty bike and that is why you chose this model, but wondered what your thoughts were on the forte’s components compared to your liberte. I’m interested in the Urbano but wondered if I should just save the money and get a Campo. I don’t carry a lot of gear, so the forte would be overkill. Thanks!

The forte is the bike at the top of my list, but any folding bike needs to be able to retrofit fork suspension for my liking. Going long distances on rough roads is hard on the hands. It's a shame there's no rear suspension considering most of the weight is on the rear tire. I've heard of people blowing rear spokes. Also, the 2023 forte has an upgraded 8 speed drive train. I think it still has way more benefits than drawbacks for bike camping. Just bring spare spokes and a tube.

Hi Brian. I have come to the point where I need to replace the original Kenda tires on my Forte. Can you recommend a tire you have had success with for the fit and performance? I would rather not purchase another set of Kenda tires. I am hoping there is something nicer for predominately paved road/path riding. I really appreciate your advice.

I can recommend the Kool Stop BMX brake pads. Saved my butt the other day on a road where a car coming the other way swerved across right in front of me. I only put the Kool Stop on the front. They are a bit pricey. And well I stood the Zizzo Liberte on it's front wheel and the back end swong to the right side, but I missed the car, and not by much. The car driver that had to swerve to avoid another car idiot, was more shook than me. I have the standard pads on the back. Quite certain the outcome would have been not so good with the standard pads. At least in dry conditions the action was just as good as discs. I have another bike with discs. The Kool Stop pads are much longer than the stock ones. Because they are so long, it is harder to keep them from squealing. They claim all weather performance, and the front is shaped so as to plow off mud and dirt. ??

I’m thinking of buying a zizzo. Should I just get their cheapest model or mid range. My commute is 20 miles round trip. I weigh 235 and about 10 lbs of gear. I. Don’t want to spend too much because I need 3 bikes total. Wife is like 135 and daughter is maybe 100 lbs. I’m the tallest at 5’9 the girls will only use is like once a month I’ll use it Daly

Meant to ask if you use or have a mirror for the Forte? Do you recommend a type or style? Just concerned that since the handlebars swing down when you fold it and I dont want to break the mirror or scratch or damage the bike.

Hi Brian. I have a Zizzo Forte and it’s my first time wanting to replace the tires. The original tires indicate 20X1.95”. Does this mean I can only replace them with 1.95” wide tires, or is there a range of widths I could use? I would like to get some more road/paved trail friendly tires. The original tires aren’t that great for pavement. Is there a particular brand you recommend?

I dunno, all the Zizzo bikes look really budget and cheap. None of the elegance of a Birdy or the simplicity of the Brompton. It may perform just as well, if not better, but I can't seem to get over the fact that it looks like a bike you get from Walmart, decathlon or any category-killer retail outlet. The price is definitely attractive, but it's not exactly something I would enjoy taking out for fun.

@ibikeunfolded3 жыл бұрын
They are cheap bikes, but they perform well for their price point. Not everyone can afford a Brompton or a birdie and I show that even though Zizzo bikes don’t have the pedigree of higher-end folders, they are fun to ride and explore on nonetheless. Fun on folders is the point of this channel--at all price points.
@KennethWuAU3 жыл бұрын
@@ibikeunfolded it’s probably the best value folder out there. As with anything, the more you spend the more diminishing returns you get. Zizzo has the best utility per dollar. That I agree.

To tell you the truth 😃 I get more compliments on my Zizzo than on my Brompton. ✌️🚲🍻
