My problem with TikTok art comes to the hyper realistic drawings. Now before I say anything, most of those drawings shown are fantastic. The artists clearly spend a lot of time and work on them and the colors and texture are amazing. But one concern is that those artists sometimes lack the foundation or “cake.” Like they put all of their focus and time on the colors and texture. But that shouldn’t be the main focus. The main focus should be the drawing BEFORE the colors. I’ve seen those artists sometimes screw up faces, tutorials tell you to draw what you see instead of drawing the basic shapes you can see.

@mistkutzuki26083 жыл бұрын
@@pogz1 I agree with the Person above But Ill give You critique and You may not like what I will be saying so Im giving you a head's up Critique: Im also an Artist And have been through the phase "It seems its not Improving" And when I look at your work I Could see why. First Of all It looks like the things your learning are all Out of Place Like I could See in Your coloring You use a sort of Black Color(Dark color)Which Is Really wrong. Because it doesnt Suite the skin tone And then The Skin tone is a bit Yellow... And If I may assume Where you going for orchid kind of color? If so Please Learn On how Colors should mix And Ummm I will just suggest you learn from the very start. Yes it will take a while BUT it will be Much Faster If You take it Lesson by Lesson Trust me On this... I made a Mistake On Just taking somethings But not seriously Learning it Throughly Like Anatomy But It was worth it. So Please Go by these first: Anatomy: Skeleton - Muscles - Product(Overall) Skeletal Guides Blocking (Using Big and Maybe complex Shapes) Then Add the details Later Color Wheel: Values (Black and white) And Colors ( Contrast, Hue ,Etc) Tip: In a Art work Its much more Beautiful if You use a Limited Pallete Or a Color That will suite The other colors (Color wheel Lesson) Lineart: ⚠️Dont Do Sketchy Lines⚠️ Try to do short and Long lines with one stroke And I could see you just Draw The final shape of the Hair But You didnt Add details The Hair Grows from the roots in our scalp and flows out and the Hairstyle will differ From where the "Point" will be(Middle Part, Side part, Etc.) Explanation: Please Learn Human anatomy and Not from Artist Tutorials where its in "Anime-Style" "Semi-Realistic" Just search Up Anatomy Drawing and start from there. But it will be Stressful Trust me Ive been there but In the end Its The Thing that I need It will go By detail on how bone Affects the Muscle and Movement And The overall Product And Anatomy Is a long run Learning Like Anatomy of the eyes may take you up to 2 Hours to learn and Understand And Then Putting what you just learned to Practice. So When You watch or Read tutorials Try Taking in A Lot of Information About a Particular thing Like the eyes Because Human Bodies are more complicated Like how the eyes react to like and how they will behave So Understand The tutorial first before Actually Drawing And Putting it to practice(It will take several tries) And Then The next day Try to Putting In practice again On what you learned yesterday. Thats how you will improve! And The Reason Why you should Learn from the real thing is Because That all Styles Come from the Real thing and was just "Adjusted"/ "Personalized" For the style.

With Ethan it’s like “ I’m doing this and I expect you to follow along and make your own conclusions with it because only a baby couldn’t do this” so I would suggest maybe doing what he does as he does it? STOP using circles/spheres Geometrically, circular structures are meant to be perfect- something you or i (organic shapes) are not. I feel like over-defining teeth is a good way to make a character look aggressive or intimidating. It's natural for us to be offput by highly defined teeth, since we're still technically animals the baring of teeth is a physical way to show that someone is either ready to fight, or that they are ready to eat. Both of those aspects can be extremely disturbing, especially when you are at the recieving end of such an expression. For example, in Naruto, any time they made Gaara look extra insane they reaaaally defined his teeth. It gave the desired effect; to disturb the audience. Defined teeth are good for legitimate creep factor, bad for casual scenarios.

Drawing, the science of understanding, deconstructing and reconstructing art. However, it is not an all-powerful art. It is impossible to create something out of nothing. If one wishes to draw something, something of equal value must be referenced. This is the law of equivalent exchange; the basis of all drawing. In accordance to this law, there is a taboo among artists. Drawing ovals is strictly forbidden, for what geometrical shape could an oval possibly represent?!

Ethan's perspective feels like perspective rather than anatomy. like he's searching for vanishing points for muscles. he's a good background artist but I feel anxious if I should take his advice on character design.

Has anyone here ever signed up for Ethan's course or paid for the recordings of one? Would love to hear what it's like. Can't find a single review online anywhere.

Hello lovely people :) Now hide before I start blessing your family and friends :)) Edit: *a dislike before the video even premieres? I guess some people are literally subbed to dislike all of Ethan’s videos...* I love the internet:)

I draw anime on my phone ( just using fingers ) and it helps me a lot, now I realise that there's many of things I need to know, love the content!
