Do NOT in any circumstances make hot sugar in the microwave. Always use a metal pan on the hob. Making confectionary in the microwave is far too dangerous to risk.
@iii08mji3 ай бұрын
why?
@faeb.96183 ай бұрын
@@iii08mji how to cook that's last video explains it best but tldr sugar gets WAY hotter than water does, it can melt through the plastic of the containers in the microwave and if it spills instead of just slipping off like water it'll stick to skin. you can easily get second or third degree burns requiring skin grafts and extensive care to recover if you mishandle heated melted sugar and it spills on you. and that's without going into how some containers like pyrex can literally explode with the temperature difference

I knew it wasn't the best idea, but I just didn't know why. I used to work with someone, and he yelled at me everyday, because I would microwave my Cup of Noodles. 😞 It says, "DO NOT MICROWAVE ", everywhere on the cup. I had always used the microwave, even though I knew it wasn't the best. He did make me stop, lol, and I haven't done it since. Lol

@gyrthez2463 ай бұрын
@@raphaelgomes she didn't debunk it calling it fake, she explained why it happened and it's basically because you're removing air from the frosting, therefore making the frosting more compacted, and as a result you get a stronger color. there are downsides to doing this with certain types of frosting like mixtures that rely on whipping (for example with meringue or egg white based frostings) where it can mess with the end texture, stability and sometimes flavor. it might work okay for something buttercream if you don't mind the texture, but as soon as you whip the frosting back up to the same consistency as before you will lose the color like before.
