Testing traditional Flutes from Carpathian Mountains

Traditional sopilka has six-hole fingering like whistle. Ten-hole full-chromatic fingering was invented by Dmitry Deminchuk in 1970. This fingering became common one for homemade sopilkas and sopilkas made in the factory. Oleg Kurennoy also makes floyaras with this full-chromatic fingering.

The thumb holes in back each have to be opened up before the next one above them. :) Once you get to the top they won't make a sound, because there are open holes above them.

Hello, your collection is great. I am a little confused with some Ukrainian instruments. In Spanish there is not much information. I have a question the Sopilka is a flute with a whistle. I have read that the Onuka band in yout music. Gracias!

In Ukraine, as they are handmade And rather cheap instrument from 10 to 50 bucks

The sopilka and the double flute djolomyga are available from the Ukraine on eBay, by seller volkovroman75. The floyara and frilka (floyarka) are from the Hutsul Ukrainians in the Carpathians mountains. I have not been able to find a seller for those instruments. Armin, could you share the information for your source?
