Idk but this is my opinion: The 3090 is still a good card for different purposes such as Ray Tracing, 4K and rendering. So keep in mind that the 3080 and 3090 are almost similar in average gaming but the 3090 will excel greatly in rendering and ray traced gaming.

The vram is only a storage space for data, from there this data gets passed to the GPU for being processed to produce frames. You can see in the video that GPU usage was 99% which shows the GPU was working at max. Now coming to your question, even If the 24GB vram is used, frames depend on GPU usage and not Vram usage.

im happy i get my 3080 gaming oc in price of 999$ in nowdays its almost like impossible... :P i will use it to 1440p screen but there is always 200% scale resolution options ingames or just stanard scale resolutuin in control panel ;)

So I’m getting ready to upgrade from a 1070ti. I’m not super tech savvy, but I’m trying my best to learn here. My rig is mostly built for gaming, and some KZbin editing with premiere pro on the side. Should I suffice for the 3080? Or go for the 3090? I’m not trying to spend the extra money if I don’t have to, but if necessary I will. Mostly play warzone, and like to stream on twitch, but this 1070 just drops frames like crazy now. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

those 10-15FPS at 4k are huge, that's what I think people don't understand... 4K is immensely more demanding than 10-15 extra fps at 1080 or 1440p

If u want to play casually at 1080-4k get the 3080 OC it to +150mhz If u want to play at 8k+ Render Films and do workstation stuff this is basically a Titan RTX with a OC at 70% the price

10+ FPS, wow... RTX 3080 is the way to go and don't come with the "Try to game in 8K with a 3080" type of comment. No one plays in 8K unless they are obsessed gamers who wants to spend like 10 grand just for gaming. Besides the RTX 3090 is not a gaming card, Nvidia made that GPU expensive for a reason, it was made for productive work.

Why the hell are you using TAA? I wouldn't even use that trash blurry AA on 1080, yet you are using it on 4K. It's utterly pointless. All you're doing is decreasing your performance AND blurring the image quality.

I like the 3080, good price point for the new Ampere and performance boost, but the 3090 isn't worth it for about 1,500$. 2080 Ti and other 2000 series cards are still good and so on and can still do 4K at a good and stable frame rate.

For 10%-15% faster performance it's using 40 to 50 more watts, it runs 10c degrees hotter and it costs $800 more. Not worth it.

короче 5-10фпс разница в 4к. Ну и 4к они естественно не тянут даже в стабильные 60. Зато балаболили как всегда мена топ карты), я знал еще до выпуска что максимум для 2к и 144гц карты. Ни о каких 4к и речи быть не может ближайшие линейки 2-3.

Buying a 3090 for gaming isn't cost effective, nor is intended to be. Buy it for the extra VRAM used in editing, rendering, etc. maybe an all in one gaming/streaming setup, but still not cost effective compared to a two pc system

The 3090 is a joke for 1500 compared to the 3080 at 700. Nvidia should have just named the 3090 what it actually is, a Titan card. The 3090 is much more suited towards productivity than it is gaming.
