3070 to 3080 looks to be a pretty substantial upgrade. The performance is perfectly in scale with the cost of these two cards. You're paying 40% more for a 3080 to have roughly 40% higher performance. 3080 to 3090? Not so much. You're paying 200-300% more for 5% more frames.

This I why I can never go off of these videos. I have an Asus Tuff 3070 and I play Cold war in 4k, maxed settings and I play at 120 fps. Why it's at 67 fps here is beyond me. The 3070 used in this video must be made by Pizza Hut or something. Oh wait, it's made by MSI - May as well been made by Pizza Hut lol. Well I'm calling bullshit. 3070 has 8gbs of Vram and 4k ultra is extremely intense even for a 3090. The only way I get 120fps in 4k is dropping everything to low. Every benchmark video I've seen with a 3070 and 4k ultra has always hovered just above or below 60fps (usually below) regardless of brand... 2k maxed is a different story, I can get 90-110fps with that.

This is simply greed on their part, nothing else. And the AIB manufacturers have to meet those margins Nvidia sets, so to make a sustainable profit they have to charge the customer more.

@@jjt171 As the person above already mentioned, this is fucking 4K Ultra HD, not plebian 1080p. 20 fps of difference in 4K roughly transfers to 40-50 fps in 1440p for instance, even 5-10 frames do matter when such demanding resolution is being used.

Tbh the 3070 wasnt developed for 4k gaming. Its sweetspot is 1440p. Id love to see a comparison at that resolution! Still good to see it manages almost every game at 4k 55-60 fps on average.

In my experience with my 3070 high settings 1440p (not ultra) is typically 90-110fps, with a few games dipping into 80fps. With RT enabled then the settings have to be adjusted med/high to get 45-60fps. Still a good card in my book, next upgrade I'll go for a 4080 or 5080 and crush any game lol

There was a time when the hype was to offload workload from the CPU to the GPU and we call it 3D acceleration. Now, it the time to offload some of it back from the GPU to the CPU. CPU load is pathetic on all games. We could have much more AI, physics as well as object and world deformation.

I'm glad we've reached a point where it's pretty much 4K resolution that needs to be tested, and it either hits 60fps or 30fps with or without Raytracing/DLSS or it doesn't... and if it doesn't, then that means the resolution needs to drop to 1440p, especially for those wanting 120fps. Testing for 1080p, 1440p, and 4K was getting overwhelming when 4K will be the standard resolution for years to come...

@@mathesar Yes but Steam doesn't take into account every PC gamer and games out there, and It also doesn't take into account the millions of console users playing countless games at 4K. They may also be choosing lower resolutions to achieve higher frame-rates, hence why the Steam stats are what they currently are. But these RTX 3000 cards are clearly targetting some form of 4K performance, be it 30fps or 60fps+, so that's the only resolution that they should mainly be tested at imo... because if someone wants to play at 1080p-1440p 60fps+, there are countless cards out there already!!

Forget FPS the Frametime is actually embarrassing on assassins creed valhalla, I'm surprised how thick ubisoft's skin is, every year they get called out for their poor performing games yet they keep pumping new games every year with worse performance and people buy it so they keep pumping without optimizations.

WHY temp is better on 3070 and its ussing less power and less cpu ussage and more cold cpu, hate to say it but 3070 better, in 3080 and 3090 they just increased electric consume for a tiny bit of more performance, NOT WORTH AT ALL

I don't know why but the 3080 and the 3090 In Particular disappoint me with their performance. The 3090 wanted to be an 8k card and can just gets to around 80 in 4k

God its so sad, why can't Ubisoft optimize their Games? My RTX 3090 runs on 4k with DLSS and max Settings with 40-80 FPS in Watch Dogs Legion, which is a disgrace and the stutter when falling below is 60 is very obvious. Sorry but we expected more from a 1800 Euro RTX 3090.

Those cards - it is obvious - are not so powerfull as it should be despite the whole this hype about them. With RTX enabled or without, in 4K resolution they don't deliver performance as expected. We'll not justify poor performance with bad game's optimizations. Maybe... Maybe for 2-3 years video cards will be strong enough to power 4k monitors with way above 100 fps on ultra details and with RTX ON. Until then, I will retire myself from this freakin' hype about performance and prices. Future is bright, present is not.
