Depends on your location. In finland the b580 is almost 350€ and you can find a 4060ti at around 400€. If it was 250€ here, it would be a no brainer, but unfortunately that isn't the thing.

The fact that b580 is either matching performance with 4060ti in few games or slow around 40% means it's slow in some instruction or driver optimization which is making this card slow in some key specific areas. If Intel could improve that performance it'll match 4060 ti at 1080p and can even surpass it at 1440p.

Nah, with optimization it maybe can increase about 10% performance and less shutter. The hardware is already fix, you can't have like 20 or 30% more performance because of driver. It just fills the hole between 4060 and 4060ti, when it is better than 4060, but less than 4060ti, depend on how much people want to spend. The Vram is nice thing, but Nvidia has CUDA and bigger community to make their card more useful for many purposes :)

You're right, its mainly optimization. Intel will mature like fine wine at their current rate of driver updates and patches. Its got headroom for sure. I personally found the RT results for cyberpunk quite impressive, id imagine that would be the realistic gap in a perfect world.

With further driver optimization and the fact that the B580 has 12gb VRAM, it will likely age far better than the $400 4060 Ti. I would not touch that 8gb card.

Should have tested 1440p.... It's where the B580 shines and results would have been closer, with a couple of victories for the B580 even. Edit: My bad there's already a video comparing those 2 cards @1440p. And yes B580 draws in cyberpunk 2077(No RT) and edges ahead of the 4060Ti in ghost of tsushima

Now do this test with a lower end CPU. Looking at the driver overhead issues recently found the B580 falls off a cliff when compared to other GPU brands when older CPUs are used. No one will pair a B580 with a 7800X3D/9800X3D anyway.

Because you can't use DLSS frame gen on non Nvidia cards 40 series and up. Intel is building in frame gen in their own XeSS2 though. Given how good their upscaler already is, the frame gen is prolly gonna be better than FSR3 too.
