Hey men ..question?do your testo build pressure in the hoses after finish using them
@coldfinger459sub0 Жыл бұрын
Only if there’s residual oil residue with Refrigerant, trapped in the surface of the rubber and the oil a slight build. But I found the Testo gauges are not accurate. They do not hold their zero drifts. . Even after zero in the gauges, they keep drifting occasionally . I have two gauges. Both did the same thing. . So not isolated just to one..

Do you recommend the testo 557s over the Fieldpiece sman 480v?
@coldfinger459sub02 жыл бұрын
No. would highly recommend the 480 V From looking at other people who really like Testo just because it has the name Testo on it it appears many of them have went back to the old refrigerant gauges to 550 some of the Testo users were not happy with the 557S.

Very good video. FYI testo will void the warranty if you mess with the valves.

Are usually don’t care about warranties. I only bought this gauge because I was curious I don’t need it I have many other gauges. I have the Testo 570 which I do like a lot and The Testo 570 is my gold standard for performing pressure decay test I like their sensor or high pressure. And I had to re-repair my Testo 574 leaking valve seals that were damaged on assembly twice after sending it to Testo to get repaired I have no Confidence in their competence at repairing their own equipment. After the second leak I called them up after discussions with their tech-support and a few others I just told them sell me the valves I don’t care about you running calibration test on it I will do it myself thank you very much. And I never leaked ever since then and I did the modification with silicone grease in the O-ring valve grooves. And after that it was capable of also pulling deep vacuum and holding watch it could not do before. For ease-of-use I prefer my Fieldpiece and I recommend Fieldpiece because the software ease of use, more intuitive easy for young inexperienced guys to learn especially for the automotive side of my business I recommend automotive technicians get the Fieldpiece. In large display with big numbers for old eyes

@@coldfinger459sub0 Yeah just thought I mention it for other people who watch this. You seem like a very smart capable person. Sorry to hear testo can't do a proper repair job on the valve seals. Like the old saying goes, if you want it done right do it yourself.

@t lech hey how do you like those enelopp batteries ? they should last at least double of time of the alkaline type
@coldfinger459sub03 жыл бұрын
Highly recommend those batteries they manufactured by Panasonic you’ll never have to buy batteries from your local grocery store or big box home repair store again. I literally use a few hundred dollars in batteries every year now this one purchase a batteries will last me the next couple years on the rechargeable

@@coldfinger459sub0 i believe you cuz i bought a Chinese rechargeable AA like 2 years ago for my testo 550 which eat batteries and still holding strong ..but i want to upgrade to enelopp i know those will outlast you ..i have seen reviews 8-10 years later still holding 80-90% capacity..thanks for the replay ..love your videos btw specially the leak detector one

@@Ismael72110 and there is two different grades and types of enelope batteries. The black ones are the high output high amp draw hi current draw type batteries good for motors and things that draw a lot of power really fast. But they have a shorter life cycle of around 1000 charges instead of 4000 charges. So when you’re buying batteries for low current electronics make sure you get the green ones or white ones The black ones are just for devices that you need to dump a lot of current fast for performance not longevity

@@coldfinger459sub0 yep the white one 1900 mah is more than enough with long shelf life

What size O-rings do these use?
@coldfinger459sub03 жыл бұрын
Actually I don’t know the size of the O-rings because I have several universal master sets that each set has several hundred O-ring sizes. I just signed them and pick them out by hand by Eye 👁. You only could get away with changing the O-rings so many times it’s that nylon Teflon plastic type piece that you see in the surface space area that also gets worn out or can get foreign matter in bedded into the surface right where it seals. If you ever have that problem you need to order the whole piston brass assembly. O-rings only leak external to the atmosphere That plastic material that you see on the surface facing stop the leakage in between bores in the manifold
