I have high cholesterol but always have and it runs in my family. Around 220-250. Doesn’t change with diet. No statins, I’ve refused them based on calcium score. I’m now 48 years old. I should note. My t level was 252 at age 32. I’m a large human so 200 mg puts me at a peak of about 750. I split my dose to 100 mg twice a week. I’ve known friends that get the same amount on 70mg per week. I’ve been doing the bioidentical pellets for years now (I’m 54). I don’t get the spikes that injections give you. When I started my doctor would do blood tests every 6 months. Now that I have the dosage dialed in he does it once a year. He monitors everything. To prevent the festivals from stopping testosterone production he will prescribe periodic HCG, although the government has made that a lot more expensive to get. I’m down 45lbs, stronger, have more energy, and rarely get sick. A lot of that is because I work out better now, but I believe this is what allows me to.

Estrogen and testosterone are counterparts. They are both hormones. even synthesized testosterone is a hormone. Trin, Deca, Anavar, Equipoise etc are anabolic steroids, and are derived from testosterone. But testosterone itself is a hormone and not A steroid. Get your facts straight.

Na I think the main reason we have that problem more now a days. Is cuz a lot more men are on medications now a days. Like opiates and anti depressant and benzodiazepines. A lot more people have addictions and dependent on these medications now a days then did 30 or 40 years ago. which then interrupts the gonad axis . And those medication then mess up sleep. And then also what he said the rest of the people that don’t have medications problems. Are prolly over weight and eat too much and don’t exercise .

Dr. Attia, please point us to the clinical research/peer reviewed journal article(s) that justify the claim that testosterone in 30 year olds today is so much less than those of 20 years ago. Otherwise, this simply remains as you said a “plausible” statement (i.e. conjecture). It is disheartening and confusing to hear the message that both (1) there is a problem that testosterone is lower in men today and (2) there is an epidemic of overuse of TRT today.
