My heart goes out to all the ladies who are trying to function without this, as I tried for years. I only just started treatment some weeks ago, so it's too soon to tell, but I am thankful. ❤

After you educating me..I realise i must have low or no testosterone..! I have no ovaries. Adrenal insufficiency. So both organs that make testosterone. I dont have any function... I was given an oestrogen/ testosterone implant. Due to early menopause. Never felt so well in my life. Transformational... I am seeing my GP to discuss and ask fir refferral as we have a local NHS specialist menopause clinic run by a gynacologist. I am at risk of osteoperosis as 0n steroids for life. I have all the symptoms of low Testosterone. If i have no luck with the NHS. I will go private. Thank you so much for educating us. ❤❤❤❤❤

What are the actual numbers showing low testosterone in your blood tests. What happens when, for example, 20 is considered low but you have a test showing 21 ? It’s great that you are educating women with your knowledge, so that we can advocate for ourselves. I worry though that there’s still not enough current education for Drs in practice. Living in France is difficult in this regard because finding a Dr or a gynecologist who is up to date on the latest information is impossible. Add to the fact that they think it’s Illegal to prescribe testosterone unless you are a male or transitioning to a male !

Increased hairloss, increased cystic acne - that's why. Despite your clinic and others saying many women experience thicker hair and don't get acne, in many of our subs, forums you'll see a huge number of women saying they don't get on with it. Is it the majority? Possibly not. But I've tried it several times and all I got for it was scars from the acne, expensive private dermatology apts, medications to treat the acne (because the NHS is terrible) and massive hair loss that's not recovered. Please stop acknowledge and address us! It's boring and exhausting that those of us who don't get on with progesterone and / or testosterone, don't see these miracle results from oestrogen aren't part of the conversation. We're here and we exist! Testosterone therapy causes cystic acne (face and body) and hair loss for a lot of women. Let's start talking openly, please and thanks.

I had acne as a young girl through to my 20s. Only age (less oily), hormones and UV light have ever really helped my acne. I get very few spots since mid 30s. Before and since starting testosterone my acne has not changed.

Yes, this needs to be discussed, and hopefully helped. We don't all metabolise and clear hormones in the same way or the same pathways. I can only use small amounts of testosterone or I'd need DHT blockers. Genetic testing might help a lot with targeting treatments and therapies, but when will that be standard in the NHS? 😊xx
@deel24357 минут бұрын
@@truth-hurts3089 Good for you! Your personal experience isn't the experience of many other women - you fall into the category of wha Louise and many others cover daily. We're talking about the REST OF US and it needs to be openly, frankly DISCUSSED. Otherwise Louise and everyone else is contributing to misconceptions of treatments for menopause and menopause which is what Louise wants to avoid.
@deel243524 секунд бұрын
@ Absolutely. It's very unlikely to be part of standard medicine through the NHS, more so if we don't openly share the experiences, side effects and consequences. Women aren't going to continue a beneficial treatment if it's 1) costing them lots of money to try and remedy the negative side effects, 2) if the side effects are impacting their self worth. The more we get this out in the open, through reputable sources, the higher the chance of things changing for the better for all women.

I was investigating Midi this morning because of worsening symptoms, and found that they will only prescribe testosterone if you live in a handful of states. Very frustrating.
@butyoulooksohealthy-fibrom9208 минут бұрын
It’s because states have regulations. You can thank the American government for making it a controlled substance because we didn’t win gold in the Olympics in the 80’s. Dumbasses obviously didn’t know the difference between gear and hormone replacement.

You can do a Google search for a TRT provider for menopause in your area. That’s what I had to do.

Hello, Dr Newson, Can you please address 2 questions I'm struggling with? 1: How to address all 3 hormones without making melasma worse? (The Drs I have consulted so far bypassed my question.) 2: How is each of the 3 hormones metabolized? Or, what is the metabolism relationship between them? You mentioned testosterone is a metabolite of progesterone, if I understood you correctly, and I want to understand this interrelationship. Thanks so much!

I'd like to share the information with my GP. Can you include links to each of the papers? I've been struggling for years and the GPs i've had don't want to even test my T levels. They'll prescribe an anti-anxiety or anti-depressant but won't look at the whole range of issues i'm experiencing. I'm in Canada and haven't been able to get referrals to any other specialist.

Could you add some info to the Balance app on progesterone where a woman has had a hysterectomy (TAHBSO). I cant seem to find anything concrete on whether progesterone would help and the NHS menopause clinic in my area says its only for women who still have a uterus.

Can you advise on ways to increase the absorption of Testogel, because I’m not absorbing it according to my symptoms and my blood tests. Androfeme contains parabens so that doesn’t sound like a long term solution.
@annana929711 сағат бұрын
I would like to know which is the most important blood test to focus on, in terms of discussing blood results with the dr. Is it the TESTO, or the FREE TESTO, and what does the SHBG and DHEAS say about potential low testosterone? Which of these can be used to pressure or convince a reluctant or ignorant dr to prescribe testosterone?
@truth-hurts308912 сағат бұрын
So where are "natural" testosterone drugs derived or produced from? Not a pregnant mare or a yam plant?
