For example, some people shit on their favorite dubstep artists when they move to a softer side of music (biggest example is Getter with his "Visceral" project). In my opinion, if you have a "favorite" artist, you should still support them no matter which direction they choose to take. That doesn't mean you HAVE to go to their shows and listen to music you don't like, but just support them in any other way. Even listening to their new stuff and giving it a chance I'd say is still "support"
