Kenny Mayne and Linda Cohn host Sportscenter, following coverage of Game 4 of the 1998 NBA Finals (Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls vs. Stockton/Malone Utah Jazz) and the beginning of the 1998 World Cup in France.
**Up until recently, I've been downloading my personal VHS collection. However, the collection is obviously limited. I started a Patreon page to better find and purchase old VHS videos on EBAY and other websites, as well as at garage sales and other locations that might have VHS available, so I can upload them for all to see and share for free. See it here: / tombombadil

Olbermann had not gone cuckoo. How bad did he become? He returned to Espn but decided sjw politics was worth his mouth after quitting his previous show in disgust. So he quit Espn for a far left podcast.

Holy shit, I had forgotten how good sportscenter was in the 90s, no bells and whistles, no fluff, no "hot takes" no screaming for no reason, just straight to the point sports news in which you were well informed about the sports news of the day. Man has this horrible network fallen far.

The golden age of Sportscenter. I wish they'd get back to this stuff.
@TheKrazyk2010
@TheKrazyk2010 2 жыл бұрын
Some of the stuff that they did back then can't really be done today since sports highlights are way too easily accessed on KZbin, they just need to find better personality and improve their content rather than just looking for a bunch of clickbait garbage but yes the stuff back then was legend and we were really spoiled back then
@KYExtemper
@KYExtemper 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheKrazyk2010 Issue is you can access sports highlights but no one has time to sit down and watch highlights of every single NBA, MLB, or NHL game from the night before. I'd still like a one stop place to go for 30 mins to an hour that recapped games and informed me.

Kenny Mayne's Jordan intro for the Game 4 highlights is so great 1:16 Smart, funny, informative, quick. It's sad how far ESPN and sports coverage in general has fallen. Hopefully the pendulum swings back one day.

Funny how nostalgia works. I was eleven when this aired. I couldn't wait to grow up so I didn't have to go to school, or do chores. Now I wish I could go back to this time, but not with the knowledge I have now. I think everybody remembers the past as a golden time. Eleven year olds today will probably come back to videos from today and feel as I feel about 1998. You just grow more cynical as you get older. Time moves faster. Your body begins to break down. That's just a tale as old as time though. People from two hundred years ago went through the same thing.
