Tether is amazing to have dodged and weaved all over the freakin' planet for this long. Anything this flaky should have fallen apart months ago. Great job trying to recap all this confusing nonsense with new main characters popping up this late.

I've always sort of wondered on the "notes on a criminal fucking conspiracy" bit. If I'm in a criminal conspiracy, I'm probably working with relatively untrustworthy people - the exact sort of people likely to try to leverage a lack of written records to alter terms in their favor, and where disagreements about who owes who what are considerably higher-stakes. Which is not to say that you SHOULD keep notes on a criminal conspiracy, but I feel like it's a tradeoff between "fucked if the cops find your notes" vs "fucked if there's ambiguity/disagreement between you and dangerous criminals".

The problem with running a scam in crypto is that inevitably you are interacting with someone else's scam and you got to hope that you can cash out before it collapse and takes you with it

this all makes the BCT stuff make more sense. they were creating a terminal, so they had to buy a basement (my basement!)’s worth of samsung 27” monitors with magic receipts and…the money gets clean from the ICO. with the help of signature bank, of course.

Bro did you see the news today or yesterday about Tethers new bank partner in Puerto Rico??? Why the heck does a company, that reported profits of 2.5 BILLION DOLLARS IN ONE QUARTER, need to find bank partners via a small, regional bank in Puerto Rico?!?!? All your videos that I’ve been watching lately just make me wonder how much of the price of BTC was propped up by USDT. I honestly wish there was a way to figure this out. Anyway, thanks again, love this channel! 💪🏻

I love your content. One idea though: Weed businesses have had to do a lot of tricky things to obtain effective banking due to actual federal prohibition despite state and local permissions to do transactions. I guess they just had piles of cash sitting around, which requiring lots of security and putting neighborhoods at risk, all while following the laws of their areas generally (except the feds). They green neutrally did this instead of opening accounts on false pretenses (usually). Although I endorse their efforts in most cases, (excluding ones that are fronts for more awful, sometimes violent parties involved in that industry) what do you guys see as the differences/similarities? Also if the crypto industry does achieve endorsement in the mainstream banking world, do you think authorities will just forgive and forget about all the fraud that lead up to that point? Is it possible anyone will actually face charges?
@scottkirby5016 Жыл бұрын
oooh restating banking history? Tether and Silvergate seems to both need to do so this week. At least the later may be semi honest one day. And as them being around until they are not. . . I'm pretty sure people said that about Lehman, Barings Banks, GE, etc etc Long tradition of that not working and Tether is only a decade-ish old. But they will be around until probably until they get hit with a RICO charge or some LE agency realizes they have whatever cash or securities are backing tether in their jurisdiction and seizes it all.

I'm a tether sceptic and wait for it to crash, burn and possibly take down crypto with it but it feels lazy to point to their cat and mouse games with the banking system as indicative of a bigger fraud. They have the same issue with banking that all crypto entities do, if wells fargo continued banking for them they would never have resorted to the cat and mouse games.
