You might want to try the CEP400 with the longer antenna you showed in one of your earlier videos. In my experience (with an MTP850) the longer antenna makes quite a difference.

Sadly I dont have an antenna that will work on the CEP that's longer then the one on it.... The Longer ones on the MTP700's use a different connector. I'm focusing on getting the longer antenna for my Sepuras first before I get one for the CEP. I've got a shopping list ATM.. MTM800e's and SRG's are high up there, with new antennas being lower.

Thanks! The current cell is the test cell and is running at 10ft AGL and 1w power. It's only for testing linking, sds control, dapnet and APRS. Once I can find a building to throw it on it will be tuned to full power and have a much better antenna then it does now. I have been able to connect to it in a See but no Talk mode with my STP9240 around 30mi away, so I'll be interested to see what you can get XD

I'm thinking of getting a set of Motorola's MTP850 but there in 350-390MHz am I able to use them 🤔

I wouldn't advise that. As 350-390 isnt in any Amateur band I know of. In fact i believe that's used as a Military band in most places. Definitely not something you want to mess around with. Look for a unit that can go to 450 or 470

That one with the monochrome display is just the cheaper model. They make versions with full bitmap LCDs with web browsers. That's a STP9240, the 9000 series was last gen. ( we are now on the SC21/SC20) The other one is a CEP400, ~2015 and was designed for retail workers.

@@anongator I had the STP9240 a few years ago, mine was 3W with the power alignment tool. It's the base model (entry level) of the STP 8/9000 Series Tetra HTs, with the small display and half keypad, and the CEP400 similar to the MTP850 without the full keypad. The Tetra standard has excellent audio quality with the ACELP Vocoder as you probably already know, having watched the videos of yours on YT.

I love my 9240s, tho one has a scratched up screen and only gets used as a tac rptr. I'm taking a little bit of a break from tetra due to something more interesting coming along. I do have some new TETRA stuff planned but it's not gonna to be for a bit as really, DMO isn't as interesting as P25T.... And I don't have a place or funds for an express system *yet*
