Ikr. The Gaster room isn't unused either; if you have 62 (I think) fun value, a separate corridor in waterfall will appear with a chance for a gray door to appear in it. When going through the door it will take you to the Gaster room. The 'Ahh' sound is used in the Omega Flowey fight when he shoots his vines at you, but yet again, it is distorted.

Defeated sprites are most likely in alphabetical order, meaning if you call a sprite that doesn't exist the game will overflow into the first spriet possible reaulting in the aaron defeated sprite.

The "unused" room with the mystery man IS used, it happens at a certain FUN value for a fake hallway. If you get the hallway, there is a 10% (If I recall) for a door to show up. If you go through that door, it leads to that room. Nice vid, though!

random facts: most of the unused sprites (the doge, the sus papyrus, and an unseen outline for the sepia scene and a few others) were scrapped because they were “too good” according to toby. the black haired frisk was scrapped in favor of a brown outline due to the hair not being able to be seen against the games black backgrounds photoshop/omega flowey originally had extra sprites that depict worms, chains, and bones (for an animal, vegetable, mineral vibe?) he also had a large set of tv sprite faces, but they were scrapped. if ya want to learn more abt all that jazz, u should buy the concept art book(#not sponsored). if ya couldn’t tell, i’m a nerd.

The debug tiles are used, you just need to load the UNDERTALE project file in game maker and open any room in the ruins/snowdin/etc.. These are used for collision stuff. You can't see them in game, but debug mode can show you these tiles too.

Undertale OST number 72(Song that might play when you fight sans) is also in the files(and the official Soundtrack on iTunes) is unused, Despite it's name, you actually have no chance to hear it play in the sans fight, perhaps it was once intended to be that way, but it goes unused throughout the whole game Edit: I was wrong, it's not in the files, but it is still in the ost, so it was maybe supposed to be in the game at some point

2 year old comment, but the most correct explanation I can think of Is that Toby made the song, put it in the OST and called it that to trick people that there was a way to fight Sans in the Neutral Route, Plus, the song actually sounds like a Remixed version of "sans.", The song you hear when you meet Sans in the game

If I had to guess why menu 5 got unused, I'd have to guess that it's because you have 6 main friends and 7 tracks, right? Which would leave one track for each friend added, and one for having no friends. But you make friends with Sans and Papyrus at the same time, so Toby had to cut one of the menu tracks, and decided 5 was a small enough change to cut.
