My guess is that UNUSED_slash_UNUSED text was deliberately written to never be used. I mean the game starts with you creating a character that immediately gets discarded. That text is perfectly in line coming from such a being thrust into the middle of nothingness and it's right up Toby's alley to include things in the game files like that for just that kind of purpose.

@Digicraftmon the Crystal Gem no the dogcheck value was in undertale too, it's restricting editing the save files. It's not for the FUN value and has no effect on the game, at least none that I know of, except for maybe softlocking the game until you change the value back. If you, for example, edit your save so you are in a room you can't access, a room that's not in the game, the dogcheck screen from the video appears, instead of letting you in the room, if you don't change the dogcheck value.

I think the unused text... wasn’t meant to be used, at all. This unknown character describes it as being “dark” and “silent”. I believe that this character is “trapped” in the files for Toby to leave as a sort of Easter egg for data miners.

4:04 I think this message represents an early version of the DeltaRune ending. I also think that Kris is saying this, because he is controled by the player. That was removed and replaced with the scene where Kris takes out the player's soul to set himself free from the player's control. I also think that this text was planned for a Gaster scene where Gaster is trapped in the void how is mentioned by the Gaster Followers in UnderTale. It is important to think that this was part of the main story, so that way we can find more clues about Gaster or Kris. But I would like to believe that this is all about Kris. The placeholder art being shitty makes sense when you look at it from a dev's perspective: what's more important when creating a game, the art or the mechanics? This can vary, but Undertale and Deltarune aren't really known for their incredible art (though I think it's intentionally basic to make the player underestimate the game), so it makes sense that there'd be smiley-face blob Kris to get things up and running first and foremost.

Well its honestly so important to focus on just getting the game to WORK. Art can be changed, but its really hard to figure out what the game will be like unless you can get your vision to work. You won't know if something is entirely out of your skill set or time limitations until you try, which might then result in different art needs. I guess what I'm saying is, there's no point creating a bunch of completed art unless you know for sure you can implement what it is intended for.

The graphics visible in the exe are just... the game's graphics. Nothing more, nothing less. They're not hidden, it's just where they are stored. As for the fact they're upside down, well, that just happens to be how the BMP format stores its lines of data. I'm kind of surprised it doesn't use png internally (which has compressed data and thus can't show as actual recognizable images in a text editor like that), but for the rest, there's nothing unusual about that.

If you manage to make the number of characters per line a multiple of the number of pixels wide the image is, you can sort of see the image. TBH I think the message in the dark was either Papyrus (since he hasn't been fully ported into the game yet, and it's very likely he and Sans both remember the previous game universes thanks to their work with Gaster.) or Gaster himself. Also the symbols in the notepad thing are interesting because Gaster's full name is W.D. Gaster, AKA Wingdings Gaster. (To fit with the 'font family' names) Wingdings being that font full of symbols and pictures.

For the Unused_slash_Unused text, here's my theory. WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS I believe it would have been used for some of Chara's text used possibly before the "Are you there? Are we connected?" text. I beleive this would work due to it being an unknown chracter when we create the vessel, who I think is Gaster or Chara. The reason why Chara would say this is because the world which we get transporrted into might be a seci=tion of the Void, which Chara mentions in the end of the game. (Also, you know, Gaster might be there). The human child knows about the void, and that might have been where their consiousness might have gone in between their death and our genocide. That's why they'd be calling out for someone, and mention that it's so dark. The text might have shown up beforehand on a black screen, but Toby scrapped it because it would be too dark or might give away the "Chara possession" at the end. So.... that's my theory.

I think that the dogvoid button (let's call that the "dog ate your command" button) may be intended as an anti-pirating measure, maybe for the next paid chapters, that overwrites every other command and doesn't do anything significant itself, so that when a player who pirated the game enters a battle, he is basically softlocked for what may be an eternity in Deltarune, since there is no actual end to the softlock and it really just ends not because of the world of Deltarune, but the player who may simply went back in time to his previous save. The softlock really probably lasted for the rest of Kris(?)'s life. But it's only a theory. Maybe this dog void button will remain in the game files forever, unused. We will see if this is actually true when a paid chapter comes and someone will make a post about the fact that he FOR SOME REASON can't fight. :)

The part where you come across the weird/legit creepy dialogues could've been how Asriel entered the dark world. As you mentioned in the video, the place where that text is being taken about was in the storage room, and they kept saying how Asriel left to go for college. Might not make any sense, but that must've been how Ralsei was created. Ralsei also mentioned that he had been trapped for years, being a lone prince with no subjects or any company at all. There was also a humongous door to seal him away to darkness. By the way, doesn't college take a few years to over come? I honestly don't know since I'm just turning 13. Upon entering the dark world though, Asriel might've had amnesia as to who he really is, or as one of the dialogue of the shopkeeper named Seam, just went crazy and that resulted for him to change and forget. Don't worry if you don't understand, I don't get myself either ;-;

I think the text that says “can anyone hear me” might be gaster because he was “shattered” across time and space and this is a whole new timeline so maybe he got trapped in the files. We know Toby likes to do stuff like this to leave a cliffhanger. maybe the phone call sounds are his cries for help because he is trapped in there.
