@HDFlood_5 жыл бұрын
This is an *immensely* broken tactic in Top10 to keep opponents on edge. For people who don't understand what Doremy was doing during the entirety of Top10, here's the strategy in a nutshell. You want to be readily able to send garbage via a Combo. C4W is NOT viable in Top10, so S4W is the most viable, followed by S3W. With T99's Combo Table, you start sending damage at 1REN, unlike the regular 2REN. With this in mind, you can exploit Top10's garbage receive time greatly by sending small clumps of 1-2 damage by hitting constant 1-3REN combos, giving you ample time to build your stack inbetween the sending phases. This is the first part as to why this strategy is so broken; you can attack and defend at ANY TIME. Naturally, with margin time, your damage is increased considerably. This is the second part of why this is such a broken tactic; at max margin time, you aren't sending 2 lines, but 12. This makes sending in clumps of "2" very underrated. Doremy took full advantage of these factors to capitalise on damage, allowing him to win the match using short bursts.

@ThatLazyyGuy5 жыл бұрын
DarrenPR yeah. What that other guy said is right. It’s the most effective way to keep the opponent’s line queue completely full at all times after margin time has kicked in. You can only send 12 lines at a time, and stalling from the opponent will prevent later combos. 12 lines are sent with a combo of 6. Does anyone know why Doremy only does combos of 2 for the vast majority of the 1v1? It seems ineffective, but maybe there's a reason? I know he usually does t-spin chaining, so 4-wides aren't really his thing, but I'm guessing there's something I don't know?
@soymag5 жыл бұрын

Because since you can only send 12 at a times, deactivating your combo of 2 allow you to re-send 12 faster.

Normally he does that but as lines sent keep increasing during Margin time, spamming 2 combos is more effective than sending the whole thing, but he also stalls when Amemiya is retaliating against him too
@carawayseed5 жыл бұрын
It's because of Margin Time. At this time in the game, a combo of 2 sends 12 lines or more. I don't know the exact number. Doremy made a video about this effect some time ago. So doing longer combos has no benefit.
@Doremy5 жыл бұрын
because margin time buffs lines sent to the opponent (and NOT the lines that you counter yourself). a 2-combo, even if it shows "2" lines on screen, are becoming 12-lines when amemiya receives them. it's better to keep stack ready for potential counterattacks and having resources to use to attack, instead of burning everything for no reason
