The buffs stack so when sabre did 2x range and put it to 1,75 it got multiplied instead of lowering. This also means that when sabre was checking his upgrades he actually stacked it like 5x.

when you increase a multiplier you should be able to lower it just by putting it below 1, so if you set it to 2 and want to put it back to default then just do 0.5

Spikes are absolutely insane for single target damage with the upgrade monkey, although less important with things like Super Mines being so infinitely powerful baseline White Hot Spikes normally have 10 spikes/pierce per pile and each spike deals 1 damage, for 10 total damage, but if you get upgrades for +4 damage, it becomes 50 damage total. Compare this to the thorns dealing 5 -> 25, and you can see how crazy the spikes are stacking. At +4 damage and +5 pierce they'd be dealing 75 damage per pile while thorns would still only be doing 25, since it can't hit a single bloon multiple times with pierce

I think an interesting extension of the sandbox "choice" mode would be to allow the user to pick any upgrade, however you still have to buy it at full cost. The benefit of this is that it still all goes on one tower, so the weapon upgrades still affect EVERYTHING on it, as well as any external buffs applying to everything at once. It's basically just Ultimate Crosspathing with every tower in the game on a single tower.
