I love and adore this show so much and no TV Show today had ever quite come close in my eyes. Ninja Warrior is very good but not my all time favourite. Still trying to workout why people weren’t watching it as much in the last couple of years? Lack of new good games, not as many ‘legendary’ contenders? Too many injuries? I would still love to see a remake for the 21st Century at some point.

Ace's reaction to Cassius being disqualified on Gauntlet was quite something - the fact that he had the decency to defend Cass because he knew he was trying to regain his balance after getting through his sector - which I don't think was something John appreciated. He certainly stopped Cass from losing it emotionally. The most fascinating thing for me about Ace is how he openly talks about his conversion to Christian faith, to individuals as high-profile as Nicky Gumbel, while encouraging physical and mental fitness amongst those both of faith and not, and of the steroid abuse which took place on the show.

Pretty sure all the male Gladiators were on the juice back on the show, Shadow was just the one that got caught. Maybe not Wolf as he always seemed like a health fanatic but there is no way Hunter was able to keep dislocating his shoulders to the point he couldn't lift heavy weights and still be such a beast was not taking steroids for recovery.

It is very obvious that Cassius was in the wrong in Gauntlet. He was past the Gladiator and then shoved the gladiator while the Gladiator was on the ground. John was correct to Disqualify Cassius

Having looked at it again Cassius' friend was wrong about Alan. Vulcan had taken Alan out of the gauntlet. The rules are in those circumstances he goes to the next section. As Vulcan was the last section this meant that Alan had completed the gauntlet.

Both yourself & @Michael Vidal are correct, Alan was PUSHED OUT rather than taking himself out therefore its 10 POINTS to Alan & Cassius well whether he did shove ACE while he was on the ground I'm not sure, but he certainly should've been long gone into the next sector & not just standing still looking to mix it

The contender only starts from the next section after a push out if there is still time on the clock. Here the time ran out as he was pushed out so the game was over before any restart would have occurred. I'm not saying anyone here is wrong because I think it could have gone either way and I would not like to be the one who had to call it.

Why should he care whether Ace was on the floor or not? If you pass a gladiator then they can't touch you anymore, whether you left them on their back or their feet. He was past Ace and onto the next section. Cassius only turned back to be aggressive.

The only saving grace of this season was Vertigo. Awesome game. Especially when they changed its music to Pursuit's. Every other change this season, from rules to games like Powerball and Pendulum to the Glads' attires was for the worst.

Anyone notice the opening credits? Normally it's boy/girl. But Rio, Siren and Vogue then Wolf last. I don't understand why Vulcan and Diesel were not included. Diesel was in all the publicity photos for the series. If they had been included in the opening credits, it could had being boy/girl order. Even Gold and Fox who were stand-by gladiators last series still made the credits. Producer's had been wanting Wolf to have a bad-boy rival for awhile. Shark was to be a new gladiator in the pervious series. Producer's where impressed with him and was set to become Wolf's rival, but during gladiators event pratice, Shark's came across some issues with his health and couldn't continue. They decided on making Kahn a full time member of the team just before filming. However Producer's weren't happy, the character that had hoped to be, didn't come across in the series and he was axed, despite being a good gladiator with a high win rate. For this new series, they decided to draft in Vulcan from Australia, where gladiators had ended for over a year. Producer's loved the on screen rivalry he had with Wolf in The Ashes and decided to have him as a guest gladiator.

Sometimes the gladiators gets a disqualification in the gauntlet, but that's a first and only that a contender gets disqualified for retaliation. In the American Gladiators, we have 25 seconds to get through the gauntlet for 5 points, and 10 points for getting through in 20. In season 7, We cut the time to 20 seconds. If you got through in under 20, you get five points, ten points if you get through in under 15.

To me the standard of Female Contenders dropped when a number of them were struggling with THE ROPE CLIMB on THE ELIMINATOR, maybe having THE A-FRAME CARGO NET after THE HIGH & LOW HURDLES played a part in why some of them couldn't get up THE ROPE

Series 8 was planned to be a full domestic series at first but was cancelled due to the end of the UK series and the final series became a Supreme Champion series with a Battle of the Giants special to give the show a proper send-off.

I think personally the quality of Female Contenders dropped quite badly and that's where it started to go downhill from there, the Male Contenders still had some good characters and surprises for us but I felt if this show was to continue as this series they may have been inclined to drop the Female Contenders if needs be

In previous seasons, the contender had to cross the checkered line with their entire body for it to be considered valid. Also, a contender being lifted out of the Gauntlet did not automatically give the contender maximum points, they would just have to resume the game from the point where they exited with how ever much time was left on the clock. Normally, I agree with John Anderson's decision making but not on this occasion and the Gladiators were right to dispute it. Correction: There's a difference between the contender falling over the side and a Gladiator intentionally lifting or throwing the contender over the side so I take back what I originally said about that. However, contenders in previous seasons still had to cross the line with their entire body. There was a female contender in season 6 (I forget who it was) that touched the finishing line but did not cross it entirely and was not granted any points.

Completely. Alan was also screwed out of 10 points as an earlier episode established that a gladiator touching his platform after Hang Tough began is a disqualification and an automatic 10 points to the contender.

As for the men's gauntlet, If eel that John Anderson made the wrong decision by giving 10 points after the push out of the gauntlet and the second contender SHOULDN'T have stopped and turned around and therefore THAT DQ decision was correct.

I think it would work with 3. 2 are assigned a contender and the other one has freedom of the pitch, but they can't tackle the same contender twice in a row.

It made it way too easy for the contenders as showed by the girls scores. Once you evaded your gladiator you could do whatever you wanted because you knew the other gladiator couldn't touch you as they could only go after the other person. With three you still had that wildcard to worry about as you didn't know which one of you they were going to mark. There were still great scores during the three gladiator era so it's not like it was too hard and had to be changed. I don't understand why it was changed.
