Tex, you beautiful bastard, you. A voice so perfect for speaking that I randomly have parts and phrases of your Battletech videos stuck on repeat in my head. "...For a time."

Absolutely stunning Mr Tex. Your readings have introduced me to MANY poems I've never heard or heard of, your delivery brings them to life and lends weight and gravity to the lines. Much appreciated sir, what a special Christmas present you have delivered this year!

Dickinson is one of my favorite poets, and had greatly influenced my own poetry

Wow Tex. I've only ever read a bit of poetry before. Mainly Poe, Whitman Masefield and Frost. So hearing you read these poems that I've never heard of brings me a great deal of enjoyment. So thank you for your voice. Hoping all is well with you.

I am so utterly confused by the new Tex Talks Poetry. I was upreared for receiving doses of culture but I am absolutely here for it and love this series.

You have exquisite taste in your poetry. May I suggest, "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep" is a poem often attributed to Mary Elizabeth Frye, written in 1932.

Fun fact, you can sing this to the theme of Gilligan's Island.

And Yellow Rose of Texas (yes, I came across this bit of trivia via Babylon 5), or any other song in common metre. In fact, pretty much any poem by Emily Dickinson can be sung to a wide variety of songs because she wrote in common metre.

@@ala5530 Anytime someone mentions Dickinson I can hear Jerry Doyle's intonations ringing in my mind. RIP Mr. Garidbaldi.

I really like these poetry reads. Might be interesting to try reciting them in an accent for the period in which they're written. Some rhymes and rhythms that worked back then are a bit off nowadays, because pronunciation changes.

Is it weird that of all Tex Talks there be this one is most dear to me? Not intricate crafted ones, about starring a mech. Not the old knowledge about a crooked hack. I do prefer this one, where the leading role, just so happens to be our very soul. ... Fuck I forgot the whalegun one! That one ties, so job well done! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry for the my atrocious verse, I had to respond in kind, albeit worse.
