Behind the line of scrimmage while passing, yes they need some leeway. But when they cross the line of scrimmage, they are no longer a quarterback, then they are a running back . Do running backs slide? Do tight ends slide? Do wide receivers slide? Do punt or kick off return runners slide? NO, they do not. Past the line of scrimmage, the quarterback is no longer going to pass. The quarterback can only run. Ergo- quarterback has become a runningback. So this slide rules has got to go .

Not harsh to suspend for 3 game, need to see this from diff angles to fully grasp the deliberate hit. In one replay I saw, he clearly brought up his forearm to hit the QB high. Azeez lied in his apology - he MEANT to deliver the high hit w/forearm - we all know they want to get the hit, so congrats, you nailed the sliding QB. Go sit for 3 games -

The "slide" rule just needs to be changed entirely. If the QB is past the line of scrimmage they should be considered the same as any other player with the ball. Don't ever slide and make yourself defenseless because sliding now officially does nothing. This is like a kills 5 birds with 1 stone rule change they could make.

His apology was very shallow. There’s a huge difference between hurting someone and intentionally maiming and damaging someone for the rest of thier life. He dove like a dart to a target, launching all his weight and power into that players head. He’s been schooled on this, of course he has, this is a trillion dollar industry, they now make all players watch videos and look at cat scans of other dead nfl players brains who donated Thier brains specifically for science to study the effects of concussions. and yet he chose to maim another player anyway. If you play it in slow motion, he intentionally aimed for the other players head. In training they are taught that essentially this type of injury is actually killing apart of the brain. So in some way, he killed apart of that person.
