There were massive fires in New Mexico when you were in San Antonio that created a lot of smog. My taxes in San Antonio were $5800 before the homestead exemptions brought it down to $4600. The heat IS max tier. Also you literally didn't go to any of the places from the list I gave you lol but in all fairness I wasn't there to guide you 😢

I lived in Galveston (twice). We had Kroger, Randalls (Safeway) and HEB (until Hurricane Ike took it out). HEB was the store I'd visit least (hardly ever) be it in Galveston, Texas City or Sugar Land -- just didn't like the vibes (their older stores seemed trashed/run-down), "industrial" store design (the new ones were too warehouse like, and seemed unfinished) and I don't recall HEB prices being that great to make any real difference/reason to go there. So Randalls and sometimes Kroger were my go-to stores in The Big G. ;-) In Colorado Springs (COS), King Soopers was my usual store, but went to Safeway fairly often as well. COS also has Natural Grocers, Whole Foods and Sprouts but they weren't for me, either (different vibe/customer and business model focus). Never been to a Trader Joe's but I've always thought of it like a "boutique supermarket" (like Sprouts, Natural Grocers and maybe Whole Foods as well) for certain types of customers (and more affluent I guess), so probably not for me either. But really, even if you CAN afford it -- why? Just give me plain old King Soopers or Safeway. :-) However, I DID like to go to the Air Force Academy Commissary occasionally -- a very small store but had most things you'd expect. And it's in a very scenic location in the foothills/pines. At that time they were known for good prices on meats & produce so I'd take advantage of their prices on those items. Never went to the larger Ft. Carson and Peterson AFB Commissaries...kept meaning to go at least once but never did. -- BR
