If a CAT 1 hurricane did this to the power grid, then I would hate to see what a CAT 5 hurricane would do to this area.

The reason why this hurricane was so bad because it was a wind event, just like Hurricane Ike. Ike was just a category 2 I’m pretty sure and the power was out for a full week.

@@DrizzyFn- We had Hurricane Irma in SW Florida about 7 years ago, and we had no power for 8 days. FPL invested over a billion dollars in the power grid and infrastructure. Then, Hurricane Ian hit in 2022. We were only without power for 30 hours, and Hurricane Ian was a lot worse than Irma.

If it's Texas, I'm sure they're running their car engines the whole time in line to maintain A\C, then they'll ask why there's no gas or why it's so expensive.
