Texas A&M vs Arkansas - Josh Pate's Preview & Prediction

Both teams appear to be evenly matched, however, as I look at this game a few things stick out: Arkansas' QB Green averages 1 turnover per game, while A&M's QB Reed has yet to turn it over. A&M has played a much tougher schedule so far with Notre Dame, Florida and Bowling Green, vs. Arkansas with OK State an Auburn. Arkansas' offense has been more dynamic so far than A&M and scored more points in a variety of ways and has a slight advantage in time of possession, and better 3rd down efficiency. A&M's defensive line and secondary play has been better overall than Arkansas. It will be close, but I believe A&M wins the turnover battle and wins this game.

A&M's run D decides the game. If they're gashed the first 3 Qtrs, they're gassed in the 4th and Arky pulls away. If they hold, make 3rd down stops and forces the hogs to throw on long down and distance, A&M beats them in a low scoring game. Aggies are not ready to let the freshman QB throw downfield yet - thus the low pass yardage for Reed. But if they dink and dunk with the run game, QB keepers, and short passes, Arky doesn't have enough possessions to win. 24 - 16 Aggies win

Pate? Are you seriously asking who will start? It is Marcel Reed 110%. No question. No doubts. Weigman is NOT ready. A&M should win. Problem is, they have been totally inconsistent. Good news is? They have been getting consistently better every game. Learning, improving. Not saying it has been perfect. What team shows up? If the UF team shows up, game is over fairly quickly. If the inconsistent team shows, very close game (most likely).

The numbers/stats tell a different story. Arkansas should win this game period. Hello friend. Let’s talk Arkansas. Let’s talk about how big of a mistake Sam Pittman has been since it was announced, the excuses the fans make every week for him making horrible game management decisions, he can’t recruit in the SEC, always bottom of the SEC in recruiting next to Vandy. He’s an offensive line “guru” but that’s been the worst part of the team every year since his arrival. They might as well move to the big 12 if they’re don’t care to compete in the SEC. I’ve been with this team since I was 4 years old. I’m not a fair weather fan. I’ve been here for the worst years of the program and the best years. I just don’t know how much longer I can keep supporting a team not just emotionally but financially by donating to the NIL fund and buying merchandise and season tickets if they’re don’t care to compete or care to get a legitimate coach to build a program here.
