@DarkmanRides - The car dealer law defines a certain number of cars before you need to register. The gun law doesn't. You need to have an FFL if you are "engaged in the business of selling firearms". So yeah, if you buy guns with the intent to sell them immediately or for a profit...yeah ....you need an FFL. Not too hard to grasp.

The ATF director publicly stated to congress that separating the brace itself from the firearm during that brace ruling would not constitute citizens breaking the ATF rule at the time. Right afterwards the ATF backpedaled and said you can’t have a pistol brace at all in your possession unless it’s registered. They’ve had a history of saying one thing and doing something different.
