Okay, at this point I regret bringing up the tongue flicking because now it's just punching me in the face. How DARE you, sir. And yes, this movie is a big ol' frozen hunk o' poopy. Honestly I liked Next Generation better. The 2022 one is better, but not by much, and at least the new one is on the level of Next Gen. They're called the Slaughters again, and Leatherface doesn't seem cannibalistic.

What bothered me most is the inconsistency in time between the movies. The lead should be in her 40s as of 2013 if she was born in 1973 or have the movie set in the 90s. I feel the 1990s setting would have been nice.

Her turning to help leather face makes sense because she found out the back round about her family, she just figured out her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend, the mayor and cops just kidnapped her just because she was related to the sawyers, and leather face just saved her life, and she was about to walk away but gave in to the sound of leather face crying while being beaten. I also think it shows how crazy runs in the family(because what pretty girl willingly works with cutting up raw meat) not that leather face is supposed to be looked at as a hero

It's heartbreaking the look of the house didn't come through, because the set design apparently took screenshots of the original film and even went to the house to get exact measurements of all the rooms and decorated it to look exactly like the original house. But that's why cinematography is so important.

Same for me. My girl and I get a kick out of this film for how goofy it is. The terrible Trey Songz head in the bucket. The fact she's told every 5 seconds to read the letter yet acts like it's as much trouble as doing her taxes. That Leatherface FINALLY realizes that he can cut through a tire with his chainsaw. Looks like subscribed to Car and Driver magazine through the years! And his damn run into the woods with his hands in the air after throwing his chainsaw. Go back and watch that scene and check out the run its hilarious!! 😂😂 Guilty pleasure film for sure.

Its flaws are very prevalent for sure. That last line was pretty awful but the beginning and some of the kills were good. I know the use of 3d has used quite frequently over the last 15 years or so but I thought they did that justice. I'm always going to vote for practical over cg. I'll also say that cg can be done right and effective. A tough thing to balance indeed

Halloween Resurrection "Maybe I was a little too harsh on you" 3D just sucks, other than the opening scene, jigsaw cameo, and Leatherface cutting the guy in half kill, which were some decent parts I liked but man this movie sucks. - Also, I do kinda respect them recreating the house a little bit which was nice. Also, little detail you might not know about. During the opening when they are recapping the original movie. They edit out the actor who played Drayton and replaced him with Bill Moseley as Drayton for the movie. Also, nice shirt Mike

Tbh, i dont think TCM 3D is that bad, i mean, its a watchable movie, i like the whole “leatherface being a victim thing”. The part that i actually think its bad its just how chill heather is to find out that shes related to a bunch of cannibals serial killers. Shes like “oh, you just killed all my friends in such a brutal way i cant even describe it, but thats ok cuz i just found out youre my cousin and i love you now”. It would be way more interesting if it showed heather getting used to the idea that her cousin is a murderer and how that affects her and how she feels about that. Should she hate him cuz he killed her friends? Should she let it slide cuz hes family? Should she forgive him cuz he saved her life? Kinda shitty movie, 5/10, but it doesnt deserve all that hate

And the fact they also tried to hide the date on gravestones and newspaper articles. This might have worked if it was set 20 years later in the 90s but they had iPhones when someone was recording. This movie is sort of a limbo of me, where I both like it but find its hot garbage (TBF, I other favourite TCM is The Next Genration - I ain't the best at judging TCM). I honestly think this movie could have worked, though it needed to go trough another draft or two (and less studio interferance). Was working on a few myself. I liked Daddario's character well enough - one tweak that could have worked was if this movie had these loose ties with the other sequels, and if Heather/Edith turned out to be an adult version of the the little girl from the third movie, and for one reason or another had repressed memories of her early childhood. Maybe set the movie in the early 2000's instead of dodging the timeline issues. I still revisit the movie a lot in my fanworks. I had this one treatment for a Halloween crossover that follows (a rewritten version of) this movie. It has Daddario's character as co-protagonist and is set in a combined Thorn/H20 timeline.
