That little dance the chainsaw did when the victim escaped before the film ends is still haunt me to this day The fact that Thomas Hewitt has been the inspiration for making the chainsaw figure in resident evil 4 mercenaries mode, tall and big, with fast and crazy movement with double saw blades . he comes out of nowhere straight to player position swinging chainsaw like crazy

but i did see it, i barely remember it and I watched it again this year. the originals are a good start but their horror only scares people that either haven't seen anything modern or it was one of their first horror movies. the gore isn't that great and it somehow drags but ends too quickly. i appreciate them for creating the concept but the 2 early 2000s remakes just overall look better and are more interesting to watch. they were made at the peak of sfx before cgi became the mainstream and practically the only method of portraying movies. while the original texas chainsaw was at the start of sfx. it just doesn't look as good.

@@katana2seppuku Modern gore scenes have become very ordinary. Mind you i hardly ever watch such movies anymore, I find them silly. But there are some classics of the kind which emmit horror without being as blood drenched as modern ones. Like Burnt Offerings or Rosemary's Baby and several others.
