We are headed to Texas for the Major League Fishing Heavy Hitters event on Lake Palestine. I qualified first for this event. I had a really good year last year when it can to catching big fish at each event. I have never fished a tournament here but I am really excited to see how it all plays out. Also, we may or may not have had a run-in with law enforcement.

Jim...you're right, I work for myself so I can set my own schedule. That was my thing too, to go during the week while everybody else is working and you pretty much have the lake to yourself, not anymore. Right after the plandemic hit 2 years ago I took the family to the lake on a Friday and the regular ramp we go to was full, so we had to drive around the lake to another one and the line was from the ramp all the way out to the main entrance (entrance is 1/2 mile from the ramp) and then on the main road the line was in both directions for 2 miles and was not moving at all. We said screw this and took her home, that's the 1st time ever I went to the lake and didn't launch.

Was that the Coffee City police, by chance? I live on Lake Palestine (in the "Rich" neighborhood that you referred to) and they are always pulling people over - especially near the 155 bridge. We don't even go 1 mile over the speed limit. Hope you enjoyed your time here and congrats on making it to the finals. This lake has a lot of big bass but can be difficult to learn/find them and, as you discovered, getting around isn't easy.

State of Alabama may not require registration and tags. It’s the same deal in KY. But…although in Ky it is recommended if you have something that’s on any type of trailer and taking it out of state you title, insure and registration to make it 50 state legal. That can be any type of trailer; boat, car hauler, utility, etc. A sticky point, and you’ll be discussed with your insurance agent should also be defined in your insurance policy. You winning money like you have you better have a good agent knows legality and how to keep you protected.
