Mitchel Whitington, the author of “Ghosts of North Texas” and “Ghosts of East Texas and the Pineywoods,” shares his ghost stories. Featured on PBS, A&E, and William Shatner's "Weird or What," Mitchel is the owner of The Grove in Jefferson, Texas.
Mitchel Whitington is an American author and paranormal researcher with a passion for history. Over three decades of his writing career, he has written many articles and books on the subject of the supernatural.

@@mitchelwhitington827 Mitchell have you ever heard of anything weird happening in the town of Rusk ? I was looking at a video about Mount Shasta California and in the comments section somebody made a long strange statement about where they live in Texas . They made it sound like a really terrible place and literally said that it is like a black hole and that it is evil . They spoke of murders and satanic activity the person definitely sounded like they were serious . They spoke of how haunted it is but I have not found anything about it yet .

I lived in Jefferson for a short time around 2003. I had several incidents while there. I had gone to the old jail house where they were renovating and one construction guy had a mirror he was going to throw out. I asked if I could have it, and took it home. Then I moved to Alpena,AR to a house that was built on top of a grave yard where not all the Graves had been moved. I lived there 10 years, I almost thought that I had brought a ghost from Jefferson with me. But I will never know, because there was so much history there in Alpena. I had many conversations with the multiple ghosts that lived there also. There were times I did get very scared, but my faith in God helped me through it. I now live "Ghost" free around Siloam Springs, Ar.

I have had A LOT of experiences with spirits inside the lizard lounge (well the nights I went it was called THE CHURCH) there is a room kinda off to the side I always called it the star room cause it looks like a lot of twinkle stars anyway I was pushed down in that room. The upstairs in the main room you always feel like someone is standing right next to you. There is always shadows darting around. The vibe is just erie even with a club full of people. I always heard there was a fire in that building in the past that killed several people. I love that club! As a goth the spooky feeling just made it better!

I live in bullard very close to killough monument and actually know the grounds keeper. I've been going there all my life, and a few years ago I took my kids with my husband and my husband said that he actually couldn't find me for a second even though we were about 100 feet from each other. I guess I stumbled into another dimension.
