At the start of 2024, we started renovating our house. Completely emptied each room in turn, fixed wall cracks and holes, electrician changing most light fittings, new flooring and painted everywhere in mostly new colours- we were doing all the regular rooms but not the kitchen or bathroom because budget. And we were mostly done. We had all the doors left to be painted and the kitchen and bathroom needed repainting in their existing colour and a few touch ups/tiny jobs. It was going really well and I don’t know how we got so much done in just months. Then we got a puppy. That was early August. We have painted 1 door since then and that is it. I’m not a parent but I think a child is more difficult than a puppy so I have no clue how you managed to achieve everything in this video. It looks great!

The bedroom looks great, and Rowan is adorable with the painting commentary. It's taking us a good bit to do our living room, and we have no kids. We are almost done painting, and then there are other bits to do after that. We are buying our living room seating in bits, but it's exciting as the space becomes what we want it to be!

I always enjoy seeing Dan's vlog style as compared to Hannah's, because it keeps me humble! Professional vloggers (like Hannah) make it look really easy, I can slip into thinking that anyone can do that. But then I see a non-professional (like Dan) do it, an everything from how they hold the camera to what they say to the camera feels somewhat awkward. It's a nice sprinkle of comparison to remind me that it takes skill to set up a shot nicely and talk to the camera in a way that, to the viewer, seems natural.

Loved this! Just be careful with raising the top part of the bed to get to the storage area under it. I saw a post about a similar bed with a storage area malfunctioning and falling on someone after they raised that top part.

I remember as a kid happening to be at a friends house when her parents were having the doors painted. My parents DIYed all the painting and devorating stuff so I didn't get them hiring somehow but, now as an adult, just watching other people DIY, I fully fully get it. Especially as someone with ADHD. I think I'd half paint one door and give up. 😂

What's funny is that after you mentioned getting a lift up bed I thought "great idea!" our old frame was falling apart so I decided to buy a new one with storage too! So we put it together a few weekends ago and moved our whole room around while trying to manage both of our young children lol

What a coincidence this week I'm trying to get our bedroom painted, but the paint was mixed wrong, so I need to get the right one and repaint. It has also been a very slow progress getting it to a point where I'm satisfied, but painting and non functioning wardrobe will soon be a thing of the past. I’m having major wardrobe envy! Were those the ones where u can pull down the rail too? Is it ikea? Deffo go for sconces, it’s so nice them being out of the way. Also try to fit a dimmer switch if you can or get hue bulbs. I have the latter and loove dimming in eve to relax and the lights auto waking me in the AM!

No the solution for your carpet is already there , your buying a wider wardrobe so cut away the carpet that’s going to be covered but the new section of wardrobe and us that to fill the gap now it’s slimmer that should work much better than buying a new piece and if by chance the gap is under an inch but some trim beading and just place that infront of the wardrobe to fill the gap

it might be a mattress issue? our. new bed is the same brand and same slats as Rowan's bed but he has a cheaper IKEA mattress and it's SO SQUEAKY whereas with our fancier mattress it's not at all!

Tape on the carpet? really? :) You remove the carpet. And please tell me that the skirting boards are not on top of the carpet because that's just wrong. And the door actually comes off which is good to do for painting it.
