People are just soft today, I stopped using air-conditioning early last summer and though it's not fun when temps get over 100F you get used to it. As for the guards and other workers they are only there for eight to ten hours, there are many people who work in un-airconditioned buildings and outside in the direct sun all the time so it can be done. In the context of extreme heat in Texas, the lack of air conditioning could potentially be considered a form of cruel and unusual punishment if it is deemed excessive and disproportionate to the offense committed. there would have to be a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, that would have to go to the supreme court

I'm so dead this is finally being publicized. I have been in tdcj and it is definitely inhumane to keep humans locked up in those buildings during summer heat. For those who say not to forget about the guards who also work in those conditions, the majority of the time the guards have a fan directly on them, but they also get to go home to the ac and get a break from the heat. As an ex-inmate in the system this is something that needs to be seen through all they way to the end. They will claim they take ice water to the doorma multiple times a day but at moments like this you will have prison delivering ice 3 times a day or when they fail to deli er it they will say the ice machine is "broke". I hope tdcj gets fined for what they have been doing and even has to pay put to all the people who have suffered. To end this I will simply put this into perspective, when the temp is 105 in Beeville, tx and you walk out of the dorm to go eat you feel like you hit the ac from the extreme temperature drop.

If you do the crime you do the time. Don't go to prison and you don't have to deal with it. American soldiers deal with it daily protecting the US. It would be a waste of tax dollars on criminals.

These human beings DO NOT deserve to be cooked to death. Some of them are innocent and many of them are being incarcerated for non-violent offenses. What is wrong with the people in this comment section and in our state government who refuse to extend basic mercy to other human beings? Ain't it funny how most of them are "good, Christian conservatives" who in no way, shape, or form embrace the mercy and forgiveness that their god advocated for and compelled his followers to observe?
@DavidHalverson Жыл бұрын
USA is a Godless country, it is no longer "One Nation Under God". If God was still present in every American's life, then the September 11th disaster in New York City would never have happened. God removed His hedge of protection from around the USA just like He has removed His hedge from Isreal. Return to God's Law and Rule, seek forgiveness, say your sorry for how you treated Jesus's death on the Cross and Resurrection. It's not a Get Out Of Jail Free Card! It's your soul's eternal life for all who accept!
@ruffxm Жыл бұрын
No one is cooking to death, stop exaggerating. The few deaths were not directly related to heat. Cardiac arrest can be attributed to many things. Cells have an endless supply of water. Fans can be purchased or gifted. There's plenty of poor people who can't afford AC. What are you doing for them?
