Just two regular guys out hunting with their own bird dogs makes for a much better and enjoyable video to watch. I have never liked the idea of a dog running around just to flush the birds, I always liked to kick them up myself.

I've watched every episode of The Flush and I usually give a thumbs up, but I can't on this one. Too many unsafe and unethical acts in one high-level produced hunting show. From the leader in upland conservation I expect more. What am I talking about? In the opening segment you can plainly see the far right shooter shoot maybe 10 degrees off the middle shooter. Things happen fast when quail hunting, I get that. But, that is too close for comfort and should be omitted from a show, its a bad example. I saw two live quail being held and inspected instead of being dispatched first. I'm assuming these quail were shot first and so are experiencing pain. We, as sportsmen owe it to our quarry to give them a quick and clean kill. When a pair of quail came out of some brush I saw some dirt kick up maybe a foot over the dog's head at the report of the shotgun. No bird is worth shooting a dog or a person by mistake.
